It's the next day, and you're waiting for Lori to pick you up at your house. She should be here any minute. You didn't know what you would tell Phil if he noticed her picking you up, but he couldn't know that you were dress shopping. He thought she had been planning to go to prom this whole time. You just got a text from her.

"hey im outside"

You looked out the window, and there she was. Luckily, Phil was upstairs talking to Dan, so he hopefully didn't know she was there. You quietly opened the door, and walked out to her car. She waved and smiled at you from the inside. You opened the door and sat in the passenger seat next to her.

"Hey Lori,"you said quickly,"let's hurry before Phil notices."

She nodded her head, and you slammed the car door shut and buckled your seatbelt so that she could drive off.

"So, can you show me where it is that we're going?"she asked.

You gave her directions to the store as she drove, and once you got there, there were not many dresses left.  After trying many different ones on, she came across a sleeveless purple and black dress.  She tried it on inside the dressing room, and walked out for you to see.  It was gorgeous on her.  She looked in the mirror.

"That looks amazing on you," you said in awe.

She turned to you and smiled.

"I think I like this one the best!"she said cheerfully.

You smiled back and helped her unzip it so that she could buy it.  She came back out of the dressing room in her normal clothes, and you went up to the checkout counter with her.

"I'm kind of nervous about the dance," she whispered to you.

"Don't be, you'll be fine.  Phil is an awesome guy, and if you need someone to talk to, I'll be there," you reassured her.

"Thanks."

Phil's POV:

Dan and I were in my room, just talking about normal things.  The whole time I couldn't stop thinking about the dance.  Why did I do that?  Why did I have to ask her to go with me?  How awkward is this going to be when we get there?  I get so nervous when I'm around her, this could become a disaster.

I told Dan all of this, and he turned to me.

He asked almost desperately,"Why don't you just ask her out?"

I sighed,"because I can't."

"Well why can't you?"

"Because like I said," I answered," I'm too nervous.  What if she doesn't even like me back?"

"Then she doesn't.  However, right now the only person saying that, is you.  You've decided the worst before it's even happened."

I smirked and looked around awkwardly.  Maybe he was right..

"Phil, there is a chance she likes you.  It's your choice whether or not you take it," he said.

I nodded my head at him, and left the room quickly to get my phone.  Wait was a phone call appropriate for this?  I don't even know.  I heard the door to Y/N's room shut when I reached the bottom step.  I looked toward the doorway and there stood Lori with her hand on the doorknob. What was she doing here?  She turned at the sound of my footsteps.  Her eyes grew wide when she saw me.  I shuffled my feet on the floor, and she opened her mouth to speak.

"Sorry, I left something over here. I-"

"It's fine don't worry about it,"my voice cracked,"sorry, there's just something I've been meaning to ask you.."
