Chapter 8: FIVE (mini chapter)

On November 7, 1963, United States President John Fitzgerald Kennedy organized a meeting between himself and Cuban Prime Minister Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz at the Pentagon. Kennedy also invited Secretary of Defense Robert Strange McNamara, for support, and Senator Richard Milhous Nixon, as a courteous gesture of sportsmanship over his losing the previous election.

"Five" Opening

Kennedy

For time and the world do not stand still. Change is the law of life, and those that look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future. I said "are certain to miss the future"!

Castro

[Laughs] C*ño. I missed that.

McNamara

Prime Minister Castro, this missile crisis was the last straw. We almost blew ourselves up! Now, we invited you here today-

Kennedy

In good faith.

McNamara

In good faith, to sort this thing out.

Castro

And why is he here? He lost!

Kennedy

As I always say, forgive your enemies but remember their names. Now, gentlemen, as I like to think, in the long history of the world, that there are only a few generations- [thumping]

Nixon

Sounds like someone breaking in!

Kennedy

Just the storm, Dick. Sit down.

Zombies

[Scream and begin breaking in]

Nixon

Oh my God!

McNamara

It appears the Pentagon has been breached.

Kennedy

Zombies. Gentlemen, at times like these, our capacity to retaliate must be and has to be massive to deter all forms of aggression. [Hits the wall] Gentlemen, lock and load.

Castro

Viva la Revolucion.

McNamara

Any last words, Mr. President?

Nixon

Yes, Jack, any words of inspiration for our humble troops?

Kennedy

Do not pray for easy lives, my friends. Pray to be [pause] stronger men.

The order of business was to rectify relations between Cuba and the United States, citing the specific example of the Cuban Missile Crisis from the previous year. They were having the meeting that day at 3:00 PM when a zombie outbreak emanated from the experiments in the basement of the Pentagon. They used weapons found in the Pentagon to try to survive against the zombies in the Battle of "Five", and one of the zombies, the Pentagon Thief, was rather intelligent. He stole weapons, but it was unknown what caused his transformation to be different than the other zombies. The Politicians attempted to use the phones to reach out for emergency assistance, but most of their transmissions were redirected to the Baikonur Cosmodrome for some reason. Eventually, the Politicians were separated, and, out of ammo, McNamara hid in a janitor's closet. He reached out for help one last time.

Revelations Radio 2

McNamara

This is Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. I am transmitting on a secure channel in the most dire of circumstances. The Pentagon is under attack from an unknown enemy. As of this moment, I am safely ensconced inside a janitor's closet. Unfortunately, I fear the President and the VIPs may not have found similar safe haven. From what I have observed, our attackers may be blighted by some kind of sickness. Either that or they're just dirty hippies under the influence of hallucinogenic substances. I can only hope that this message will bring rescue. Until then, please, pray for me.
