"Just tell me what happened." Rylee sighed.

"Okay." Carl sighed, not necessarily wanting to fill her in on the details of his encounter with such a criminal.

"The ribs happened after I got him to stop pointing his gun at me." Carl said, slightly faltering at the memory, before continuing without a crack in his voice, "but he was obviously still pissed, so-"

"Shut up!" he was cut off by Rylee's hand covering his mouth, "I don't want to hear that."

Carl chuckled, and rolled his eyes once he was turned around and she couldn't see him. "I told you."

"This is my favorite part." Will whispered loudly to Carl, who just chuckled and shushed him. They sat together, snuggled up with blankets on the couch, watching a movie as a family in peace. Carl was finally happy and relaxed back at home with his family after a long few days at work, when his peace was disrupted when his phone began to ring.

He pulled his phone out from his pocket, seeing that the call was coming from a blocked number.

Carl furrowed his brows and brought the phone to his ear. "Hello?"

"Agent Gallagher."

Carl's face dropped, and his heart began pounding at the familiar voice, one he'd heard not too long ago. He sat straight up, clenching his jaw and taking a breath before responding.

"How did you get this number?" He asked in what rylee called his 'tough FBI guy voice'. She didn't joke about it this time though, when he sent her a worried look and flickered his eyes between her and Will.

Rylee returned the concerned expression, but stood up to grab Will's hand. "let's let daddy finish his phone call, okay?"

"I thought you'd be asking me something else."

"How did you escape?" Carl asked after he heard the door to Will'a bedroom closing, deciding to ask the question the man wanted him to.

Carl was curious though. It wasn't often that somebody would escape prison the very day Carl's team had gotten them locked up.

"That's not what you should be worried about, Agent Gallagher." he responded with a slow, sinister laugh.

"What does that mean?"

"How are you, Agent Gallagher?"

"Excuse me?"

"Are you feeling better now that you're back home with Rylee and sweet little William?" He lowly laughed again.

"What do you want?" Carl asked harshly, his heart beginning to rapidly speed up.

"How old is he now, three? Four?" He asked, Carl just clenched his jaw and tried to slow his breathing. "And Rylee, she just got that promotion at work, but you know she had to leave early today because of you. Does she mind that-"

"No more questions." Carl snapped. "What do you want?"

"You tried locking me away, Carl Gallagher." He said slowly, almost sounding amused, "Now I'm bored and alone, hiding away..."
