Y/N's POV

I had arranged a meeting with Professor Dumbledore that evening, I was hoping to be able to get  a teaching job here. Dumbledore said he truly admired my work ethic and would love to have me around Hogwarts, so there is hope!

I had decided to walk around the grounds for a bit before I went back home, for old times sake. As soon as I stepped outside, old school memories began to flood through my brain.

I looked down at the steps I was standing on. I smiled softly and sat down for a moment to allow myself to recollect my thoughts. This was where I first met them, my best friends.

I was walking down the steps the beginning of my third year, deciding to get some homework done outside, when I felt a sudden force and was pushed down, falling down the stairs and landing on my face.

"Padfoot, look what you did!" I heard a boy yell. I slowly looked up to see a sandy haired boy looking down at me with concern. He had light hazel eyes and a few scars on his face. Two other boys and my brother then gathered around him, expressing the same amount of concern.

"Are you alright?" The scar boy asked. I softly nodded my head, still lying on the concrete.

"Here," the boy, the one who's name was Padfoot, held out his hand, a sheepish smile smothering his face. I gladly took ahold of it as he helped me up. "Hey, I'm really sorry about that." He said, blushing in embarrassment and guilt.

"Way to go, hurting my sister." James flicked Padfoot's temple, a small smirk present on his face. The three boys looked at me in surprise.

"You're the sister?" They all gaped at me, and I nodded my head, before hearing a small gasp.

"Oh, your glasses!" I turned to face scar boy, who was looking at me with incredible guilt. I took my glasses off to see that one of the lenses was cracked, creating a web-like pattern across the glass. "It's fine." I shrugged. I pulled out my wand to fix it, only to have pulled out half of it.

"Your wand!" Scar boy cried, even more guilt washing over his face. "I am so so sorry for my incompetent friends. Here, let me." I handed him my wand and glasses, and moments later, he handed them both back to me, good as new.

"Thank you!" I said with a wide grin. He stuck his hand out for me. "Remus Lupin." I smiled and shook it.

"And these two numbskulls," James began, lightly punching the other two boys' shoulders, "are Sirius and Peter."

I smiled fondly at that memory, missing my brother dearly. I continued walking along the grounds, thinking back. I stopped at a large pine tree, and let my hands run across the bark. Many things were engraved in this tree, but the only thing that stuck out to me were the initials RM and PP engraved deep into the wood.

It was the middle of our fourth year, and James's friends had also become my own. I had grown especially close to Remus, however. Not only did our friendship blossom, but so did my feelings for him.

Remus had asked for me to meet him in the courtyard this Saturday afternoon, probably to study for the DADA test we had on Monday. I walked outside and scanned the students, looking for my sandy haired friend.

"Y/N!" I looked to see Remus by a slightly wooded area, waving me over. I jogged towards him under the pine trees. It was quite lovely, the light peeked through the tangled branches and created patterns on the grassy floor.
