"Did Cedric have to save you in the second task?"

You groaned as soon as you heard her voice.

"Oh fuck off, Pissy."

The Slytherin was now in front of you, and she wrinkled her nose. "It's Pansy." You rolled your eyes. You think I don't know that?

"Anyway," Pansy leaned against the corridor wall and examined her nails. "I was hoping Cedric was gonna let you drown." You scoffed at her ridiculousness, and tried to push past her, but Pansy stepped in front of you.

"I don't get what you mean to him. It must've been some mistake, you literally mean nothing to everyone."

This bitch.

"She means more to me than you mean to anyone." The two of you turned your heads to see Cedric walking towards you. You smiled graciously, and Pansy huffed. "Oh shut up, your just a brainless pretty boy."

"At least I'm pretty."

You clutched your stomach as you laughed as Pansy struggled to find a comeback, before stomping past you and Cedric. Once you finally regained your composure, you looked up at the tall Hufflepuff and smiled. "Thanks for saving me back there, pretty boy."

Cedric chuckled softly, but you saw his eyes held concern. "Does she always treat you like this?"

You simply shrugged. "Pretty much."

Cedric frowned. "Why?"

"Because she's an arsehole, darling," You said, mocking Rita Skeeter. "Keep up with the times."

Cedric laughed at this and nodded his head forward, beckoning you to walk with him to lunch.

You two walked in comfortable silence, but your head began to think back to what Pansy said. Why were you chosen? You were his friend, yes, but not his best friend. Surely there must be another reason, right?

"Hey Ced?"

"Hmm?"

"Why was I saved in the second task?"

Cedric seemed a bit surprised. "What do you mean?"

You shrugged. "I dunno, shouldn't it have been one of your better friends? Like, for Harry it was Ron, and they've been best friends for years. And for Fleur, it was her sister, and-"

"And what about Krum?" He asked.

You furrowed your eyebrows for a moment, thinking back. "It was Hermione." You stated. "They were... dating? I guess? So I mean-"

"Do you think he loved her?"

This certainly caught you off guard. "What? Krum love Hermione? No, I don't think so."

Cedric looked at you. "Well why not?"

You scoffed. "They barely knew each other." Cedric scoffed right back. "So?"

You stopped in your tracks. "What do you mean so?"

Cedric rolled his eyes and stopped as well. "I mean that Hermione treated him unlike anyone else. She cared for him, and I don't think people have cared for Krum like that before." You looked at him, and he gave you a small smile. "Just like you."

You blinked back in surprise. "E-Excuse me?"

Cedric shook his head. "Why else was I meant to save you?"

Thoughts were swarming your mind, but as hard as it was to believe, Cedric has a point. You couldn't believe it. Cedric Diggory... loved you?

"You love me?" You asked. "Really?" Cedric nodded and took a step closer. "Really."

You smiled wide. "Cedric, I-"

"Oh, I already know you like me."

You stopped yourself and gave him a look, to which he laughed at playfully. "Oh come on, you were so obvious."

You huffed as Cedric wrapped his arm around your shoulders. "I was not obvious."

"Oh, my dear Y/N," he began as the two of you continued towards the Great Hall. "I would be able to tell even if I was blind."
