A/N: David is not famous in this, loves.
Cowell
I analysed the younger man carefully as he sat next to me in the limousine. His brown hair was parted to the side, no signs of any grey appearing. His face was clean shaven and stubble free, making the twenty five year old look somewhat innocent. I watched as he focused his eyes onto the iPad, reading the emails.
Ever since I had hired David, I had felt a strange attraction that I'd never felt before with a man. I'd only ever been with girls, but there had been men I was attracted to. The only reason I play around with women is because I don't find them attractive for that long. Yet with my new assistant, there was instantly something different. I watched him furrow his eyebrows and bite his lip, the skin which his teeth were piercing going white at the edges.
From what I could tell, he was frightened of me. And I didn't want that. I rested my head on the side of the window before using the hand closest to David, and putting it on to his knee. I felt him freeze at the action and glance at my hands. I didn't turn and look at him, or what he was doing, but through my peripheral vision I watched his focus return to the screen. I traced patterns with my finger onto his leg, before the driver told us that we'd arrived. I gave his leg a final squeeze before stepping out of the car, acting as though nothing had happened.
As we walked into the meeting room, I noticed the taunting, long table we were scheduled to sit at. My name tag was at the first head of the table, and David had been seated right at the end. I approached the woman who was organising the meeting for my record company, frustrated at the fact I'd be so far away from David. I was anxious to get to know him, even if I did just drop him like all the woman I've dated.
"Hello, Mr Cowell!" She said in a thick, Scottish accent. I saw David stood behind her.
"I want my secretary sat next to me in the meeting." I told her.
I watched David grin and raise his eyebrows.
"Sexy secretary?" He mouthed, causing me to smirk.
"No can do. Sorry Mr Cowell, but all the seats are already allocated." She answered, turning away and continuing to brew the tea.Half an hour later, I caught David's eye as the woman droned on about copyright terms. David was at the opposite head of the table, giving me a full view of him and allowing me to subtly check him out without anyone noticing. I quirked the corner of my mouth up towards him, making him bite his lip and wink in return. I won't lie - the new found confidence he had was sexy as hell.
I couldn't help but cast my mind back to earlier, and the way he had bent down to pick up the files he dropped. He had a nice figure, and to be honest he didn't seem to mind the fact that I checked him out. Obviously he was intimidated by me but the confidence he was showing this afternoon was attractive.
"Mr Cowell?" The man who was chairing the meeting prompted, shaking me from my thoughts.
"Sorry, I wasn't concentrating." I apologised.
"Why not?" The man queried.
I looked directly at David, his eyes captivating mine, and said in a monotone voice,
"I was distracted."
I watched as he turned bright red and dipped his head down; he tried to hide his embarrassment. His hair fell in front of his eyes.We left the interview an agonising three hours later, of which the whole time I'd watched David intently, trying to figure him out. He'd spent the remainder of the afternoon replying to emails and fan letters I'd received, sitting in on the meeting. The meeting was boring as hell, and I was dying for a cigarette the second the cool air of outside hit my face. I leant against the wall and brought out the small, matt black box from my pocket and extracted the small roll of paper, tobacco and death. I liked to think of it that way - that I was in control. I took my glasses off and ran a hand through my hair, before leaning my hand back and blowing the smoke into a cloud. A gust of wind blew and caused the smoke to hit David in the face. He'd been stood there for a while, I suspect.
He coughed a little, before shaking his head and giving me a wry, shaky smile.
"You okay?" I asked, a smirk playing on my lips.
He did his usual gesture - biting his bottom lip with his front teeth and giving a small grin - before saying,
"I'm fine, thank you, Mr Cowell- I mean Simon. Sorry, I meant Simon."
He looked at the floor, embarrassed."Would you like to go for a drink tonight?" I asked, biting my lip this time in attempt to get his attention. I watched as his eyes drifted to my lips and back up to my eyes, before his cheeks rouged and he stuttered, confusedly,
"A- A drink?"
"Obviously, on work terms. To discuss-"Shit, what kind of things can we discuss?
"-my appearances on tv shows?"
Good save, Cowell, good save.
"Sure. I'd like that." He smiled at me, before looking at his phone, which was now ringing. Being polite, he turned it on silent and placed it back in his pocket.
I blew another cloud of smoke into the air before raising my eyebrows in question to him."My mum." He explained, smiling slightly.
"Answer," I told him, "it could be important."
He brought out the phone and clicked the green button.
"Hello?" He asked. I could tell that the smoke around him was causing his voice to have a husky tone.
"Hi, dear! Are you with your new boss?"
"Yes, mum, I'm with him." He said, blushing a little, but with amusement in his eyes.
"Can you say hi to him from me?"
I watched as David smiled sheepishly and put the phone to his shoulder, before saying,
"She says hi. She called so she could say hi to you."I grinned, tilting my head my head back and laughing a little.
"Tell her I said hi back," I requested."He says 'Hi'," David said into the phone, his nose scrunching up as the woman squealed into the phone.
"Right, I'm going now, Mum. Love you.
Yep, yep. I know. No, I won't take a photo of him. Yes. Okay. Right. I'm going. Bye. Bye. No I haven't seen him get changed! Bye. Mum, I'm hanging up." He babbled into the receiver as his mum rambled on the other end."Sorry." He apologised, taking a hand through his hair and smiling.
He was god damn cute.
