Jerry had to somehow stall his father, or even get a message to Sara..just something that would get her to run as far away from this place, and to some place safer. If not, she'd be the next one to go to sleep. Looking at his father, he spotted that there was a very unfamiliar look on his face.

"Fa-"

Jeff shot him a look.

"Quiet. I don't wanna hear the excuses."

He snapped and this made the child recoil in fright. He'd seen many sides to his father over the years they'd lived together but the one side he never experienced, was the ashamed one.

"I...mh..."

Jerry bit his tongue and looked at his feet once more . He couldn't think of anything to retaliate with or try and lighten the mood with either. Just a very empty and bitter sensation was hitting him in the heart. Minutes passed and the sound of Jeff's boots stomping the floor was heard.

"Come on, get your ass out there and find that stupid little whore. No games Jerry, or I'll show you a real reason to cry,"

The young boy felt very scared by this sudden temper change. His father was clearly enraged and agitated right now, more so than what he'd ever seen him to be. But there had to be a way to calm him down. Even if it was trying to talk to him on a relatively normal level.

His feet came to a halt and he stood his ground. Jeff also halted too and started to growl at the child.

"Kiddo, the longer you act like a brat, the more time I'm gonna spend belittling you. You wanna know why I get mad?! You complain I never give you respect or treat you like an adult. But you never try. You waited on me to tell you about the targets and you never even took interest in learning about them or their weaknesses. Like if you had you'd known that the girl has asthma."

Jerry froze at those words.

"Wh-What?"

He said through dry lips and Jeff continued.

"She has severe asthma and when put into stressful situations, she can go into an attack and be at risk of dying. I'd say what happened there was pretty stressful , don't you think?"

The boy snarled at the older man.

"You knew, that full well...didn't you...before you attacked me and tried to kill me!"

He spat and Jeff shook his head.

"Nah, that choking part...that was a reaction to you figuring out the truth, I just happened to feel pretty unstable and ah, you were the first thing I could grab. Also, yes . A killer makes it his business to know the weakness or disability of his kills. I'd be lousy and shoddy if not."

Jeff explained to him as he grabbed the child's arm and tugged him along. With much protest. This was one thing, Jeff would make him see...that life is not kind and people lie. But if luck, the bitch will be dead before they get there, either way, she'd die in the end.

Jerry pulled free of him and blocked the path way. He was not going to let this happen, he won't let Jeff kill her. So he'd stand his ground and defy the older male.

"You're gonna be that way, huh?"

Jeff asked with a glare as he dropped his knife and walked forwards. Jerry braced himself for the worst and bared his teeth. But it never came and instead. Jeff gave him the cough bottle.

"You wanna save her, go on hero. But remember. If she tells , then I go down and if I go down, I'll take you with me. After all, like father like son."

Jerry grabbed the inhaler and began to sprint towards the last location that he'd left the girl in. He would save her and then they'd run ways for good together. This inhaler was her saving grace and if anything could stop her asthma attack, it was this.

"Sara...."

He thought to himself as he fastened his pace.

"I'll save you."
