When Jerry had woken up that morning, he didn't expect anything other than the normal consistency of his father being hung over from drinking. But to his suprise...his father was using a computer that he'd stolen. What was he up to?

Jeff spotted the kid and calls him over.

"I've decided, you're going to school."

This was a major bombshell. He'd always been home schooled by his father, so why the sudden urge for an education?

"I wanna hunt in this area. But I figured, you're going to look odd if any folks notice you're not in school or crap like that, plus. I want you to spot victims. Then give me a text. I'll pick you and whoever you choose up. Has to be few years above you and doesn't matter the sex."

The young boy just stared at his father in complete shock. He'd be able to attend school, make friends...be...normal for even a little bit. Had a god been listening to him? This was just wonderful. Simply amazing.

"Thank you! Thank you father!"

He exclaimed. Jeff just shrugged and passed him a pen.

"Sign yer life away, kiddo."

The killer chuckled as the younger boy quickly jotted his named on the lines that were before him. Taking the pen, Jeff turned to him.

"Be warned, this is business. Don't get close to the people that you might need to kill. Got it. Okay, go play the day. You start tommorow. This parenting crap is hard and annoying."

Jerry nodded his head and rushed out of their van. Tomorrow , he'd be starting school for the very first time in his life. He wondered what it'd be like. How the kids would be, how classes would be. It fuelled his mind with excitement. This was the first selfless thing his father had done for him, maybe that meant he was changing.

"It'll get better from here on. Dad'll not be angry as much and we can be normal. It's going to be okay."

For the first time in a long while, Jerry felt genuinely happy.

Later that night..

Jerry set his bed up and got his book out. His father didn't like him having a diary but it was the only thing he never fussed much with. In this book Jerry had many hidden thoughts, things about his father too. He still wondered why his father and him never resembled one another, but then again , that happens with parents and kids at times.

The boy yawned and finished up his writing just as his father walked into his room. He had a somewhat unusual expression etched on his face, not one that Jerry recognised. Jeff sat on the boys bed and put a hand on his knee.

"Okay, you start up your mission tomorrow. I'm only warning this for you. Do not grow attached to people. I know that to you, people are kind , considerate and all that bull but take it from yer old man. Nothing is as it seems. I won't go on tons tonight, you're tired probably. But yea. Uh...good night, kid-Jerry.."

Standing up, the killer exited the room and left the child in utter confusement. Had that just happened...had..his father actually tried to give a pep talk...this really was it, he was not going to hurt people anymore.

With this in his mind, Jerry fell into a content slumber.
