Jim got inside the house all puzzled, how on Earth would Catalina know it all? He wondered if Mary ever mentioned going out with him to her, or probably texted her on their way there. No matter what, he decided he was going to avoid Catalina and keep a distance, he felt threatened.

***
Johnson's Street wasn't entirely how Catalina had pictured it, she expected more thugs and sirens but no, the place was peaceful and beautiful. Yep, douche bag sure had style.

And just as the Street proved to be the opposite of what was expected, pizza rica was also of course, the opposite of what was expected.
She had pictured an exquisite room, painted red and yellow, a beautiful glittery chandelier hung up fixed to the ceiling, wonderful music playing in the back ground and respectable icons sitting on most of the tables. But no, it wasn't like that at all.

Although the walls were actually painted red and yellow, it wasn't as clean as expected and a few holes were deriving joy on the walls. Most of the tables were worn out and the chairs, rusty. The place was full of hungry dogs, only worse. The waitresses dressed slutty in order to welcome customers - it proved to be true as most of the hungry dogs were males. What was it about the douche bag having style again?

Christopher was sitting on a table, his black hair was ruffled and he was putting on a long sleeve grey shirt with black Jean pants waving at Catalina to come over.  She sighed, trying to force herself to believe that she was in a dream. No, a nightmare.

"Quite a place huh?" he was grinning, he was lucky he was cute else Catalina would run away.

She faked a smile and nodded, Christopher stared at her long and hard and it made her quite queasy, "so are we gonna eat something or what?" she intervened.

He waved over for a waitress to come over, she had on a short red jump suit which had buttons from the neck down to her belly button but it was unbuttoned to expose her cleavage. She wore a bright smile on her face and packed her brown hair in a pony tail.

"So what can I get you two love birds?" she asked, smiling.

Catalina widened her eyes as she opened her mouth on an attempt to say something but Christopher was smarter, "Oh, I would like two club subs and a beer. And you sweetheart?"

He winked at her knowing that he just hit a very tough spot.

"I'll like a slice of barbeque chicken please, you guys sell in slices right?"

"of course we do."

"great! With a vodka martini please."

Christopher's eyes widened as the waitress wrote down the order on a sheet of paper, "coming right up." she walked away, towards the counter.

Christopher, unable to hide his shock leaned in close from across the table, "marry me."

He reached out to take her hand on the table but she hit his instead, "ouch! I like it." he smirked.

"And you didn't wear red." Catalina rolled her eyes, it seemed enduring was hard work - a hell lotta hard work. - of course she didn't wear red, she was putting on the same outfit she had on at school. She could care less about pleasing Christopher that way.

A few minutes of silence had passed by when Christopher spoke up, "You know, I'm not always such a douche bag. I grew up with the negligence of both my parents you know, so I had to fill the void."

"Why are you telling me this?" Catalina asked, thinking he was throwing a charade just to get her attention.

He chuckled, "you think I don't notice the way you look at me? The disgust in your eyes? I might be a big pile of poop, but I'm not an idiot. I only act that way so I don't have to think of the terrible things I've been through." he bit his lip and sighed, "tell me your name." he asked.

Catalina narrowed her eyes for a while, pretending like she could see right through him but no, she was tempted to believe and somehow she did, "Catalina Alvarez."

"I'm Christopher Doyle." he smiled, she smiled back. She smiled back! She couldn't believe that for the very first time she didn't force a smile to curl in her lips.

The waitress came over with their orders, "enjoy your meals." she said before walking away.

Christopher dug in almost immediately, taking a bite of the cub and chewing fast. Catalina widened her eyes, folded her arms and scoffed.

It caught the attention of Christopher as he spoke, "what? Some of it is actually natural." then he took another bite and continued chewing.

Catalina rolled her eyes, took a bite out of her pizza and tried looking around when she saw a very disturbing feminine figure at the corner end of a wall, "Oh my God." she said as she narrowed her eyes.

Christopher chuckled, "come on I'm not that bad." she shifted her gaze to him then back to the wall but it was no longer there. She couldn't look away and Christopher noticed,

"What is it? Some actual douche getting your attention huh." he smirked.

It didn't have any effect on Catalina, she couldn't move. He traced her gaze to the wall, there he figured that she wasn't lying when she said she had seen a feminine like shadow image.

"It's Mary Stone." he said, that of course got Catalina's attention.

"Mary?" She asked as she turned to him.

"Yes, I have no idea why she's actually appearing to you but I did something bad. Very bad." he cleaned his mouth with a napkin.

"What did you do?" She asked, almost emotional but no tears. She didn't want to ruin this chance.

"I can't tell you." he said blatantly. Catalina wanted more, he had to give her more. She would never beg Christopher, so she might as well just come straight with him.

"Did you kill her?" she asked, hoping to read the reaction his face would spell. And she got it, he widened his eyes and gulped his beer

"Dinner was pretty nice," he said as he stood up, opened his wallet, took out a few dollar notes and placed them on the table. "enjoy your meal." he walked away, out the door.

Catalina was left dumb founded, she didn't want this opportunity to waste. She grabbed her purse and ran out after him but his car had just driven away.

"Shit!" she exclaimed, "Shit, Shit, shit!!!" she stomped her foot on the ground. She was furious, she didn't know where the fury had come from but she was. She couldn't get the image of the girl out of her mind, especially what the girl looked like - how could that be Mary?

She knew it was something terrible, maybe Mary was trying to reach out to her. She had to find out what happened, she was more determined than ever at this point. She got into her car and drove off, almost knocking down a man in his early 40's, "Hey!" he exclaimed, stretching out his hands and watching her car zoom off.

**So it turns out Catalina doesn't even have to do anything  to get Christopher to spill a few words. Lol. Hope you enjoyed this chapter.

SPOILER ALERT: Jim returns to School in the next chapter, and Catalina connects a few dots.
