two months later...
I knocked on the door once. "Mitch," I called out. I knocked again. "Mitch, open this door," I yelled. I backed away from the door as I heard it unlock. Mitch was behind the door. I barged in and went straight to Avi's room.
"Scott, you can't just come into our dorm like this," Mitch shouted.
I turned around to Mitch. "Where is he?" I questioned angrily. His facial expression changed. I walked a little closer to him. "Mitch, where is he?"
"I-I don't know," He stuttered.
"You're lying," I replied. He walked over to the couch and sat down.
"No, I'm not. But if I had to guess, he's probably somewhere with Aiden," I groaned at his response. "He's always with Aiden,"
"I should've known," I sighed. I sat down on their couch. "How long has he been gone?"
"Probably three hours,"
"He needs to stop this," I groaned. "I've barely seen him recently and I just don't know what to do anymore. Mitch, he's not the same anymore,"
"It's been that bad?" Mitch questioned.
"I haven't seen him in like two weeks. We usually see each other at least three times a week. It's so unlike him. Have you noticed things too?"
"I have," He responded. "He's barely been here. Usually, I could come back here and see him in his room but now I'm worried. With graduation coming up, I need all the help I can get with moving us out of here. He's been spending too much time with Aiden,"
"What's Aiden's deal anyway? I don't really know who he is,"
"Well, he's this art student that loves doing drugs. I know that Avi had a crush on him but that was before he met you,"
"Do you think Aiden has a crush on Avi?"
"You have seen Avi, right? I'm pretty sure every girl and guy has a little crush on him. Even I had a crush on him. So the answer to your question is yes," I sighed again. I put my head in my hands and focused on my breathing. I was getting nervous.
"Mitch, am I losing Avi?" I could feel my breathing shift. My heart didn't want to lose him. I didn't want to lose him. But I felt him slipping away.
Mitch moved over next to me. He rubbed my back in order to calm me down. "He loves you, Scott. Remember that," Mitch reassured. I felt a single tear fall from my eye and run down my cheek. I sniffled. "It's going to be ok, Scott," As soon as he uttered those words, I lost it. I broke down in tears. I was scared that I was going to lose him. I was terrified.
Mitch wrapped me in a hug. "It'll be ok," He repeated trying to calm me down. "Do you want me to find out where he is?" He asked me softly and I nodded. He got up and went into his room.
I sat on the couch softly crying into my hands. I was trying to calm myself down but it wasn't working. I went into their bathroom to look at myself. My eyes were bloodshot red and starting to puff up. I splashed some water on my face to refresh myself.
There was a knocking at the door. "Scott, are you ok in there?" Mitch asked.
"Yeah," I responded, drying my face. I opened the door and walked back into the living room.
"He's at a party," Mitch informed me. I sighed. "He sounded sober so you don't have much to worry about if you're planning to go get him,"
"Where is this party?"
My phone vibrated in my pocket. "I just sent the address to your phone,"
I smiled at Mitch and gave him a hug. "Thank you for everything Mitch,"
"You're welcome. I hope everything turns out fine,"
"I hope so, too,"
