QUESTION:
Do I have to be in an apply fic to read it as any other fic? Do I need to apply to be in an apply fic to be able to enjoy it like any other fic?

ANSWER:
Simple answer: no, you do not.

A well written apply fic should be like any other fic on here, just with a little different set up. There may be a chapter about the different slots (see earlier faq chapters to know what slots are), a fancafe (essentially a chapter for updates for the applicants), and character reveals (either a reveal like when a member of an idol group gets dropped, or an actual chapter that's apart of the plot but also introduces the character and their personality to you).

Besides those little quirks, there's no reason you can't read an apply fic like any other fic. Sure, an apply fic might not be as interesting to read if you don't have a character in it, but you don't have characters in regular books you read, right? Hope that helps! - admin AJ
