Chapter 13
To The Death...
I woke up to the sun blinding my eyes. The soft grass had proved to be quite comfortable throughout the night, plus I was so worn out from Evan’s lovemaking that I would have slept anywhere. He stirred beside me, turning over and wrapping his arm around me.
“We should head back to the pack house.” I said.
He kissed the back of my neck. “In a minute…let me enjoy my mate’s naked body for a little while more.” He chuckled.
“Didn’t you get enough last night?” I laughed.
“Mmm baby I could never get enough of you.” He said as he mounted me ever so suddenly.
It was a quickie but still a satisfying. I was enjoying every last minute of it. We didn’t know what would go on tonight so we were trying to fit in all the intimate time that we could.
After reaching our sexual peaks, we started walking back to the pack house in our same garments from last night. We passed by other couples who were still sleeping as we made our way through the woods. Finally, we reached the house and proceeded to enter quickly and shower…together of course.
I adored the way he lathered my breasts up with suds, so gently. He had me against the wall in no time, taking me over and over till the water ran cold.
“So much for an uneventful shower!” I laughed as we walked downstairs after getting dressed.
We spent the rest of the day doing a little light training so we were warmed up for tonight. The whole pack ate dinner early so we could secure the elderly and children in the basement of the pack house. Every available wolf was stationed outside, circling the pack house.
There was no movement, not a sound, even the wind seemed still. Then a raven flew through the forest towards us. Alpha Woods held his arm out for it and didn’t even flinch as its claws seemed to tear through his shirt. There was a piece of paper that was tied to its foot.
He read it then sent the bird back empty handed.
“What did it say?” I asked him.
“It said that if you are surrendering then you should hand deliver the raven back to them and that if the raven was sent back empty handed, then they would attack.” He replied.
