So I just found out a couple of hours ago that I have a virus on my computer. Not just any virus, though. A rootkit one. For those of you who don't know what that is, it basically changes the permissions on your computer so you can't delete it while it allows ads to flood your computer.
Umm, so yeah...I probably got it when I was downloading some recovery tools for my computer...I should really stop trying to download those kinds of things.
I'm gonna call a couple computer repair shops in the morning. Hopefully, I'll be able to set up an appointment and they can remove the rootkit. I just hope it doesn't come down to resetting the entire computer...I have a lot of stuff on it. Important stuff. Yeah...
If I'm to be honest, I'm actually pretty scared of viruses. Just the thought of being potentially hacked unnerves me. All my passwords and stuff could be instantly transferred to an anonymous user. Ugh, talking about what could happen to me is really not helping my anxiety right now.
But umm...yeah...I really, really, REALLY hope it gets removed. And then I can continue my happy little life with the additions of several layers of antivirus software. I'm such an idiot for not installing antivirus software...
Yeah, okay. Well, I might update on this later. Mmk, byeeeeee
