Trips

I feel like most people like going on trips in general, correct me if I'm wrong. But sometimes, trips can get boring and irritating real fast.

Take for example the trip that I'm currently on. I'm staying at this resort in Oregon with some relatives, where it's like you rent a cabin and stuff. Now, I didn't actually want to go on this trip, and now I realize that I am completely and utterly right to feel that way.

I live in California, so from my house to the resort is about a 6-hour drive. And in that time, we met up, and my wonderful cousins thought it would be a fantastic idea to ride in my car. You'd think that be great. Spending more time with family, right? Wellllll, that only holds true if you like them and don't think they're annoying. Which is unfortunately how I felt about them. Yeah...they just kept poking me in the back and messing around and screaming while I was trying to sleep. The worst part was that my mom yelled at me for putting my headphones in and not interacting with them. Like, excuse me? I'm trying to sleep and you want me to interact with cousins who will interrupt everything I say and just giggle? *sigh*

From there, things were okay for a bit. We got to the resort, ate dinner, and did some games. Things got worse when it was time for bed.

So, I had to sleep on the sofa bed because all the other beds were taken. That meant that I would be sleeping right in the living room and could easily be interrupted if anyone happened to walk by. So that was problem number one.

Next, I dunno what was causing it. Maybe it was air conditioning or maybe there were mice under the floorboards. But there was just this constant tapping, ending only for a few seconds before resuming again. I had to sit up several times to see what the cause was, but with no avail.

Remember how I mentioned my cousins were annoying? Well, it's mostly the younger one. Because as soon as I turned off the lights in the living room, I immediately started hearing him singing. And not the good kind of singing. It was okay at first, pretty annoying. But as the minutes dragged on, it got louder and louder until he was practically yelling. I would've loved to yell at him to shut up, but then I would've gotten yelled at, too, by my mother. And during this whole time, he was in a jacuzzi that was pretty loud, so I had to deal with the noise of rushing water as well. So great.

I don't believe any of those distractions could compare to the next one, though. Because guess what? My relatives had the brilliant idea of washing their dirty clothes in the middle of the night while I was sleeping just down the hall. And the washing machine...the freaking washing machine...it had the rhythm of a swinging pendulum with the noise equal to a thundering waterfall. Like seriously, I could probably still hear it if I stepped outside. That was pretty much the last straw.

I don't believe any of those noises would've been that bad if they were by themselves. But combine them all together, and I was pretty much done. I got up out of bed and complained to my mom about the noise. I asked her if I could please just turn off the washing machine and have my relatives wait until morning to use it. But of course, she yells at ME for not being considerate when they're the ones making most of the noise. Ugh.

So yeah, I ended up with about five hours of sleep. I'm dead at this point. Wow. I just realized I spent several paragraphs talking about one horrible night...maybe I should rename this part to "My Terrible Night" or something. Oh well, too lazy.

Well, there ya go. Another long and unnecessarily stretched-out rant. Mmk, goodbye now. I need to get some sleep in the car...

P.S. At least I got some decent pictures...
