"so...you switched schools the during the first semester?" yoongi asked, feeling a bit disappointed.

how did he never see him in the hallways?

who were his friends?

"yup," hoseok confirmed, taking a sip of the smoothie they were sharing.

"why?"

the boy pursed his lips, leaning back in the white chair with his arms crossed against his chest.

he held out the word "umm...." while he craned his neck to the side, looking off in the distance.

he then sighed.

"i,  uh," he let out a dry chuckle and looked at the boy in front of him. "i dated this...guy."

yoongi's ears perked up.

"a guy?"

"yeah. a guy."

silence.

"so....are you going to finish the story?"

"huh? oh! yeah!" hoseok replied with a laugh.

"well, obviously, this guy and i broke up, and it didn't go particularly well."

hoseok had a grim look.

yoongi noticed.

"elaborate."

the boy just looked at the one across from him that was sipping on his drink.

hoseok wasn't sure what it was, but the look he had on his face was very...

attractive.

"i broke up with him because i felt neglected. he was always a popular kid and was very...self aware that he indeed was one hot human being."

yoongi stayed quiet and thought about all the guys like that at his school, wondering who it could be.

"basically, he was too close for comfort with this other guy even though he assured me they were just friends. i dumped him, and then he outed me to the whole school, which eventually got back to my parents."

"eh? you guys dated in secret?" yoongi asked.

"obviously, sherlock."

yoongi pointed at hoseok and narrowed his eyes. "hey, listen boy. don't you catch an attitude with me."

hoseok laughed loudly.

yoongi cracked a smile.

"anyway," he continued after another taste of the smoothie that was nearly empty, "thankfully nothing too bad happened. my dad was weird with it at first, but my mom always supported me. the kids at school were another story though. they always made fun of me until jun- ah- i, uh-"

"jeon jungkook?" yoongi asked, a surprised look on his face. "you dated an underclassmen? and out of all of them, him?"

hoseok glanced to the side, becoming defensive. "don't be so judgmental, even if he did do me wrong."

yoongi rolled his eyes. "right. you'll stick up for a guy even though he fucked you over. that makes total sense."

he couldn't blame hoseok though, he'd do the same thing.

"exactly."

"you're too nice."

"it's not me being nice, it's me being respectful."

yoongi remained silent.

the boy sighed, looking down at his hands folded in his lap. "people were dicks to me until jungkook came out saying he too also enjoyed dick, then they left me alone."

"why'd you leave then?" the mint haired boy asked, his eyes fixed only on hoseok.

we could have been friends.

you could have been there for me.

"the school wasn't for me," he replied with a shrug. "i also auditioned earlier for a performing and visual arts high school and was initially waitlisted. eventually, spots opened for dancers, and i got accepted."

"that's.... cool.."

the two sat in silence for a moment before a very important thought crossed yoongi's mind.

"so, are you gay?"
