"why are you sitting here alone?"

"because i like being alone."

"that's...a bit depressing, wouldn't you say?"

yoongi didn't say anything.

he just let looked back down at the food on the table, picking up two fries, dipped them in ketchup, and ate. he picked up his cup and took a sip of water, his hand shaking as he did so.

"are you cold?" hoseok asked, sitting down in the seat across from him.

the boy set the cup down harshly, and looked at the boy across from him. they looked at each other, and while yoongi was trying to make it clear he wanted to be alone, he found himself staring at the boy longer than planned.

"no."

yoongi wiped his mouth with a napkin and crumbled it up afterwards. he sighed and started to stand up .

"you still have a whole thing of chicken nuggets."

"i'm not hungry."

hoseok narrowed his eyes at the boy. "even if you aren't hungry, you are not going to just leave your trash here."

"fine."

the boy grabbed all of his trash with shaky hands and headed for the garbage bin, noticing that the other boy followed him.

"you know yoongi, you may not shake as much if you actually ate what you just threw away," he commented, grabbing his wrist and bring his unstable hand in the air.

almost immediately, the mint boy pulled his hand away, gripping it as he did.

"don't touch me."

hoseok glanced to the side. "sorry."

yoongi started walking towards the exit with the perky boy right next to his side.

"you know," he started to say while looking over at the boy, "most people would catch on to the fact when they're not wanted."

yoongi could relate to that all too well.

hoseok laughed. "you know, just because you didn't give me your number doesn't mean i'm going to stop talking to you."

the boy bit the inside of cheek, not knowing whether or not he should trust this.

"why?" he asked, stopping to face him. "it's not like we're friends."

hoseok eyes widened. "eh?"

he then let out a small chuckle.

yoongi had to admit, the smile the boy wore afterwards looked really...

lovely.

"even though we aren't friends, yoongi, we aren't strangers, and im delighted to be your acquaintance."
