hoseok laughed loudly at a bad joke seokjin said, which caused the other boy to laugh as well.

it was another one of his "dad jokes" but for once, it was actually funny.

"how are you older than me, jin?"

"hey, how do you make a tissue dance?" the light brown haired boy asked, stopping in his tracks while putting his hand on hoseok's back.

"dear god, how?"

"you put a little boogie in it!"

jin slapped his knee and let out his windshield wiper laugh, causing some people to turn their heads but then quickly looked away.

hoseok laughed and pushed the boy gently. "are you sure you aren't just some five year old boy trapped in a handsome man's body?"

seokjin dramatically put his hands on his chest, as if he just got shot. he then made a heart with his fingers, sending them towards hoseok.

"thank you, thank you. i know i am worldwide handsome."

the two boys just laughed, and it was really nice.

then hoseok's eyes wandered off in the distance to a guy walking out of smoothie king.

could it be...?

it couldn't.

"hobi?" jin asked, snapping his fingers in front of the blonde boy's face. he chuckled and then said, "you were out of it."

he smiled. "ah, sorry."

he looked off in the distance again and saw the person heading for a table.

hoseok turned around to face jin, slowly walking back as he did so. "hey, uh, i just remembered i needed to stop by work real quick, so i'll, uh, talk to you later?"

jin smiled and waved. "of course. i'll see you at school."

the blonde returned the wave and then quickly turned around, walking towards the boy that was sitting alone at a booth, laying his head down on the table.

hoseok felt his heartbeat quicken.

what if it wasn't him?

what would he do then?

regardless of all his worries, he continued to walk up to the boy and took in a deep breath.

"tired?" he asked, putting his hands in his pockets.

the other boy let out a dry chuckle. "no, i'm just laying here because i want to. look, mis-"

he looked up and stopped when he saw who it was.

a sad smile made its way onto hoseok's face.

"hi, yoongi."

yoongi stayed silent and glanced off to the side, not sure of what to do next.

hoseok sat down in the booth.

the two boys just stared at each other for a while.

"how....uh, how have you been?"

yoongi just shrugged, taking a sip of the smoothie in front of him.

the boy hummed, looking down at his hand. "you're still shaking."

"i'm just cold."

hoseok then looked up at yoongi, narrowing his eyes to examine him.

"you're really pale."

"i've always been pale, hoseok," he responded with a sigh.

he smiled. "it's nice hearing my name from your mouth again."

yoongi just looked at him.

"your bags have gotten worse. you look skinner."

"since when were you so concerned about me?" yoongi hissed. "you were the one who stopped texting me."

yoongi felt bad saying that.

he saw hoseok's face drop, and he immediately wondered why he always had to fuck things up.

"you never answered, yoongi..." the boy spoke quietly, a gloomy look on his face. "i texted a lot, but you didn't answer."

"hoseo-"

"it's okay though," he reassured. "really it is. i figured you'll talk to me when you want to, you know? i wanted to give you space."

yoongi just stayed quiet.

"i was very worried," he admitted with a chuckle. "i still am, cause you look sick, but i think i can help change that."

he scoffed and leaned back in his chair with his arms crossed against his chest. "oh really? and what could you possibly do?"

"let's go out to dinner tonight. together."
