Chapter 8

Camila's POV

After last night, I knew I was right to train. Thank the gods that I was born to the goddess of strategy. I continue to look up at the ceiling of my bedroom. Last night after Austin escaped Lauren wouldn't leave my cabin as she continued to say that she wanted to protect me and my family. I actually think it's kinda cute how protective she's becoming. I look at my watch seeing it's 6am. Looking out my window she still hasn't left her position. I then quietly get out of bed and head down stairs towards the kitchen. From there I boil the kettle and make both Lauren and I a cup of coffee in a thermos. I put everything into a bag, I then proceed outside to where Lauren is quietly sitting looking out into space.

"Hey looks like you could use a hot drink?" I ask which startles her. She looks at me and smiles.

"You really didn't have to." She says looking at me.

"I wanted too though." I say which causes Lauren to chuckle.

"Thanks." She says looking at me.

"I really appreciate you doing this but you do realise I have the rest of my siblings to protect me." I say and she just shakes her head.

"Do they train as hard as either of us?" She questions.

"Defiantly not." I say.

"Making my reason clear, I also feel calm around you which never happens." She says and I sit close to her. Mere centimetres apart.

"Why do you think that is?" I ask.

"Have you never heard of the legend about an Ares and an Athena spawn falling in love?" She asks.

"Wait are you suggesting it could be true?" I ask.

"It is happening on my part." She says.

"But I barely know you." I say.

"That is true. Maybe we could go out some time?" She asks.

"No offence but I almost got attacked by my psycho ex boyfriend and your asking me out on a date?" I ask.

"Your right bad timing." She says chuckling running a hand through her long raven hair.

"Maybe later though," I say. "When the timing is right."

"Your right." She says leaning into me.

We stay close to each other with our coffees until we see Chiron running towards us from the distance. This causes Lauren to immediately stand worried. Once he finally reaches us he tries to catch his breath.

"What's the matter Chiron?" Lauren asks.

"It's Hades, he has been murdered." Chiron says worried.

"But gods can't be killed." I say.

"That's just the thing, gods normally cannot be killed but Austin never made it to the prison and now his father is dead." Chiron explains.

"Wait are you suggesting Austin killed his father?" Lauren asks.

"That is exactly what he is suggesting." I hear a feminine voice from behind Lauren and I. Both of us turn around to see both Ares and Athena standing behind us looking at us with worried expressions.

"Mom-Dad." Both Lauren and I say to our respective parents.

"Hello children, but back to the matter at hand, we need your help to find who killed our uncle." Ares says.

"We can help, I've been training everyday since the incident." I say and my mother nods knowing what I was referring to.

"Very well, you both must come with us to Olympus to confer with the gods." Athena says.

"And what are they going to say mother, that this is a matter for gods only and send us back to here." I say.

"We got special permission from Poseidon to take you guys, and his daughter Demi. After all his nephew killed his brother and Zeus is a idiot at best." Ares says.

"By doing this will we get any special privileges?" Asks Lauren

"You both will become immortal and welcome into Olympus at anytime, you will also stop ageing." Athena says.

"We will do it." We both say as Demi joins us.

"To Olympus." Athena says and we are all transported into the city of the heavens.
