Her, the Moon's Lullaby

She's the moon in the starry night
Her tears held back from fright
But glistens throughout the sky
Sings to herself "twinkle, twinkle, little star"
To be reminded that she's not far
From what is important

At moments, she hides behind the blanket of clouds
From the ticking fear of time
But when her heart sings out loud
She will give people their prime
Or tries to do otherwise

Curiosity par takes in her eyes
While dancing across the sky
Waiting, patiently for things to be right
For some nights, she needs someone else
To sing her "twinkle, twinkle, little star"

I wrote this poem for an English project. We had to write an extended metaphor about us, and I thought it would be cool to compare myself to the moon.
