No Goodbye

Why should our gender matter
To those who cannot see our love
For all we need is our hearts to pitter-patter
And let us soar through the sky above

You let these people fool you
Believing we are the wrong pair
Thinking as if what they say is true
You and they, it's not like you're playing fair

Finally, the hard part is gone
Now that we can enjoy each other
Even though holding you seemed long
It is because of you that you are my only lover

Time has taken us apart as I leave from what we knew
I won't give you a "goodbye", but I'll leave you an "I love you"

This poem is a sonnet, but it looks weird on devices.

What the poem is about, it is talking about a couple(the couple are both girls, but they can be straight or gay. Whatever you prefer), who are being judged by society. One of them gets frustrated about it and starts taking it out on their partner. After a while, they except the fact that they are together, but their partner decides to leave because they don't want to go through the same thing. Not because they didn't love their partner, it was just for their own good. The person who was leaving doesn't say goodbye, but they leave a letter that says I love you...Yeah
