3.2| Taking a test

Autor P.O.V.

Now Kyungmi is back to her old house, Hoshi is gonna have a hard time in the castle. He and the King are not really good friends anymore. But the King has a problem. He wants to fire Soonyoung, but he also wants his daughter to be happy. Therefor, he made a plan. He won't let his daughter hang out with him, but if he is good enough, he might consider it...

Hoshi P.O.V.

After I came back from Kyungmi's house, the King wasn't too friendly at me. I can see he hates me. I hope he doesn't fire me because then I would never see Kyungmi again and on top of that I also wouldn't make any more money. In short: I would be screwed.

I sit in my room. Since Kyungmi is not here I have nothing to do. All the other guards were send home but he wanted me to stay and I still don't know why. I thought he didn't want to see me anymore.  

'Soonyoung!' I hear a harsh voice saying at the other side of the door.

I open the door and see the King standing infront of me. I quickly bow deep for him but he ignores me and walks into my room. 'Soonyoung, what my daughter did was really bad,' he starts the conversation. 'I should actually fire you because this is not how it's supposed to be.' He continues. I stare guily at my feet since I know he is actually right and he starts talking again. 'But, I want my daughter to be happy so if I would fire you, she would probably kill me, she would be heart broken and that's not what I want. If I won't let you two talk and hangout with eachother, she will also not talk to me anymore and I would be devastated. So I decided, you can stay. But!--' He says when he sees I want to thank him loudly for everything. At the same time I can't believe my ears, this is too good to be true...

'But! You must prove yourself to show you're good enough for her...' He says. Prove myself? What would he mean by that? 'You will get three tasks from me and you have to complete them. You succeed, you get her and you're free to do what ever you want. You don't succeed, I will forbid you to ever talk to her again.' He says to me. I'm stunned, why would he do something like that? At the same time it's the only chance for me to be with Kyungmi.

'So do you argee?' The King asks. I didn't realise I was thinking for a while and I was only staring blank at him. What should I do... Deep inside me I already know what my disicion will be. I mean, we're talking about Kyungmi!

I can see a dangerous sparkle in his eyes but without looking away from it I say firm 'I agree!' I breath heavy. 'Alright! You're disicion. I expect you tomorrow, by my room, at 2PM. You will get your first task there.' He closes the door behind him, leaving me speechless. What would the task be?

~Next day~

I'm so nervous right now that I'm not even able to walk properly. My knees are all weak and it took me 15 minutes to arrive at his room. I knock on his door. I've never been there before. Only his wife, Hwayoung and Kyungmi ever entered his room.

'Soonyoung?' I hear from behind the door. 'Yes!' I say. 'Come in!' I can hear a mean tone in his voice and it makes me even more nervous. I enter the room and see the King sitting behind his desk. He points at a chair opposed him 'Have a seat.' he almost whispers. It is just like in those movies where something bad is about to happenl

'Like I told you, you will get three tasks from me. Not just tasks, they're pretty dangerous.' The King starts talking. It immediately makes me nevous. 'Dangerous?'

'You're first task will be taking place in... a few hours.' He said after looking at his watch. 'What can I expect?' I ask him suspicious. 'You'll see.' Is the only thing he says, mysterious. 'You should go back to you're room. I'll pick you up when it's time.' After saying that he goes back to work without bothering to look at me again. I walk akwardly away, closing the door quiet behind me.
