After hours of driving, they reached the next zone to meet up with the rest of the Killjoys. The second they walked through the door, Pony shot up from where he sat and went over to them.
"Where's Agent?" Pony searched for him, but he was nowhere to be found.
"We found out something interesting about our little friend Agent." Kobra said taking a quick glance at Diamond through his sunglasses.
"He was hiding a pretty big secret," Jet commented, "He was not who we thought he was."
"How so?" Pony asked, confused.
"He means that our little 'friend' worked for Korse." Party said angrily.
"Shady fucker." Kobra added.
They stood in silence for a while.
"By the way, what the hell happened to you?" Pony asked Party as he examined the bruise on his forehead, and the scratch on his chest.
"Oh, nothing. Agent almost blew my brains out while he tried to hold me down." Party answered.
"Oh," Pony said, ending the conversation, "Well, I better go report to Dr. Death about this."
"Okay." Party answered.
Diamond, still broken-hearted, walked to her bedroom, but before she could touch the doorknob, someone grabbed her hand. It was Ghoul.
"Listen, Diamond-" Ghoul started.
"I get it, I was stupid. I'm sorry. Don't rub it in." Diamond interrupted.
"That's not why I stopped you. I just- I'm- I-" Ghoul stuttered. Before he could finish his thought, Diamond broke away from his grip and had shut the door in his face. She had left him in the hallway, alone.
Diamond cried into her pillow and thought to herself. How could you be so dumb? You are pathetic. You should've listened to Ghoul. As she wiped away her tears, she heard Ghoul thumping his head on the wall beside her. She felt terrible for what she did to Ghoul and what she had put him through. So, she got up from her bed and walked over to Ghoul. Without knocking, she entered his room.
"I'm so sorry." Diamond whispered as she tried to hold back the tears in her eyes.
Ghoul looked up at her, with his eyes red stained from crying and the bottle of beer he was drinking. He was filled to the brim with emotions and spirits.
"Why? You're young. I remember, I was just like you," he slurred, "I was so naïve, so vulnerable. People hurt me so much. That's why I stopped trusting the world. Until I saw you."
"Until, you saw me?" Diamond managed to say through her tears.
"Of course, you gave me hope in the world again." He smiled.
She smiled through her tears.
Diamond ran to Ghoul and embraced him. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek. He returned the kiss on her forehead. They felt closer once again as they were before.
Later, as they walked out hand-in-hand, they were greeted by the others.
"Glad to see you guys finally making up." Party smiled.
"Yeah, I was worried you guys would have a cold shoulder for a while." Jet smirked.
"We're family, we always prevail." Ghoul said as he looked at Diamond.
"Awww, you guys are sappy." Jet snickered.
Then, Diamond left his room and went over to her own room. She layed on the bed and fell asleep as she looked up at the ceiling while she thought about the events that occured that day.
