Watching the psychopath go into the toilet, I rose up and gave a sharp kick to one of the guard's head, instantly making him fall into unconsciousness. Thank God I had learned Karate. Swiftly, I dodged the other guard's punch, and gave him an uppercut, followed by a sharp kick to his chest. The air blown out of him, he stumbled backwards. All of this happened in a mere 3 seconds. I stopped to catch my breath. "I knew you'd try something!" I turned around to see a furious psychopath with a knife raised above his head. Crap, I won't dodge in time...!

Suddenly, a shadow flitted across the room and in front of me. He stood in between me and the knife and he pushed me aside, barely dodging the knife himself.

"Luke...!" I gasped. How did he get here?

Luke raised a gun to the man's head, his back still facing me.

"Go find Amber. I'll deal with him. Don't worry about the guards outside, I've cleared them all."

Then I realised Luke's clothes were all dirty and tattered, as if he had been through countless physical trials and fights. No way... Was there really a thousand?

"What are you waiting for? Amber!"

Without a second thought, I escaped the room.

-Luke's POV-

The muzzle of the gun to his forehead, the knife at my throat; we were both in grave situations. To think he could react that quickly within the time it took me to take out the gun... If he finds out that this gun is fake, I'm screwed. If I lose my concentration, I'm screwed. If I lose to him in terms of skills, I'm screwed. If he's a talker and I get persuaded, I'm screwed again. Funny how there's so many ways that I'm screwed and only one way out.

"Kid..." He said. "Who are you to her?"

"A stalker."

"Stay out of this."

"I'll have no one to stalk if she goes away."

"You little..." He tried to move forward, but I forced him back with the gun.

"One more step and I blow your brains out. If you have any."

"Alright. What do you want, kid? Money? The girl?"

I stared at him in silence.

"Don't tell me... You don't know about her power, as well?"

Hearing this, I failed to keep my composure in check and widened my eyes in surprise.

"I knew it. What are you really to her, kid? Bodyguard? How can you protect her if you do not know what she is capable of? I'm not going to be the only one after her. And I admit, I am crazy weak as compared to the others."

"Can you really protect her now?" I slowly lowered the gun. "Exactly. I'm glad you know when to draw a line." The man grinned, as if he was a child who had just been given his Christmas present. The guards in the room stirred awake.

As he turned around to reprimand them, I pressed the gun to the back of his head.

"As if I can be talked into so easily."

However, before I could say another word, he turned around a gave a swift kick. Lucky for me, I had managed to block in time, but the force of the kick left my arms scratched and aching.

"Tch..!"

I went for the kill.

The both of us exchanged blows swiftly and adeptly. He seemed quite skilled in the martial arts area too as he dodged and attacked with much precision with the least amount of movement required. Honestly, after the number of fights I had outside, I had trouble keeping up. All I could do was to keep ducking, blocking, ducking and blocking...
