Chapter 17

Chapter 17:

Zach's POV-

I walked down stairs and found Lilly in Jeff's lap kissing him. I can't handle this. Tears started to come down my face. I have to get out of here. I went outside and got in the car.

I kept driving and driving. Then all I remember is my car hitting another car and that was it.

Lilly's POV-

My phone started to ring. "Jeff stop. My phone is ringing." I said.

"Just let it ring." He said kissing my neck.

"No, what if it's Zach?" I asked and pushed him off.

I looked at my phone. Why is the hospital calling me?

"Hello?" I answered.

"Lilly? It's Jen. Come to the hospital right away. Zach was in a accident. It's pretty bad. Hurry. Please." Jen said to me over the phone.

"Okay. I'm on my way!" I said and hung up.

I grabbed my keys. "Come on. Zach was in an accident." I said and walked out the door. Jeff got in the car. I sped off.

I pulled into the parking garage and ran out. "Lilly! Wait!" Jeff called after me. I just kept running.

I can't help but think it's all my fault.

I saw Jen in the hallway. "What happened?" I asked.

"He ran into another car and now he's in a coma. The doctor said it could be days, weeks, months, even years before he wakes up." Jen said crying.

"This is all my fault." I said crying.

"No it's not, honey."

"Where's Megan?" I asked.

"She's in the room. You can go in."

"Okay." I said and walked in.

I walked in the room and Zach had tubes coming out everywhere. He had scratches all over his face and arms. I started to cry. Megan got up and hugged me. "It's all my fault." I said crying into her shoulder.

"Why would you think that?" She asked.

I explained everything to her and still she thinks it's not my fault.

I asked everybody to leave so I can be alone with Zach for awhile. I grabbed his hand. "Zach. Please come back to me. I kissed him the second time to make you jealous. We promised forever and always. I love you." I said and kissed his hand.

2 weeks has past and nothing has changed. I haven't left the hospital since I got there. I have only missed 1 week if school since we are on Christmas break. I haven't left his side.

I told Jeff I never wanted to speak with him again and he said he understood.

Today is a Saturday and Christmas is in 3 days. I pray everyday but nothing. I was hold his hand when his fingers moved. "Jen! His fingers moved!" I yelled.

"Lilly?" Zach said faint.

"Yes! It's me! I'm here." I said. I kissed his hand and he opened his eyes.

"You're awake!" I said. "Jen get a doctor!"

The doctor walked in and checked his vitals and everything else. "Everything seems to be in check. We will have to keep you for another night to check up on you. Zach, you just might go home Christmas Eve! You are a very loved and lucky boy." She said and walked out.

"I'm sorry, for everything." I said.

"I know. Just promise me this will never happen again." Zach said.

"I promise." I said and kissed his for head.
