I am now single. I could care less though. Niall and I are still friends, the same as before. We agreed to act like the 3 day fling had never happened. The boys have an interview today. Liam warned me that they would ask about me when they asked me to go. I am going anyway. I really don't care what some interviewer could think about me. We are leaving in 3 hours and I have no idea what to wear. I was digging though my suitcase when somebody knocked on the door. I got up and answered it. A very very blonde woman was looking at me expectantly.
"Hello." I said.
"Hi Katie! I'm Lou."
"Um, hi. Not to be rude or anything, but, what are you doing here?"
She laughed. "I'm the boys' stylist. Niall sent me. He said something about you probably not knowing what to wear for this. So here I am."
"Oh." I said suddenly feeling very self conscience. "Well, c'mon in."
She grabbed a rolling cart with tons of clothes on it and walked in. She sat across from me on a bed. "So, what's your style?"
"Well, it's kind of girly, tomboyish, dressy, sophisticated, fun, hipster, kiddish, and edgy all at the same time. Honestly, as long as I like it and feel good in it, I'll wear it."
"Well, then, let's find something you love! We started pulling clothes off the cart and putting them into two piles: 'absolutely not' and 'I adore it'. Then came the nerve-wracking part, trying them on. I'm not usually bashful about changing clothes in front of people, but, for some reason, Lou made me nervous. I knew who she was, obviously, I was a directioner, but apart from that, I had no idea what she was like. She probably used to style models, and I was anything but.
"So, time for the hard part. Narrowing down your 'I adore it' pile. Try this on." She handed me one of the edgier outfits I liked. A black and white sweater dress that was form-fitting, had a deep neck line, had spaghetti straps and ended just past my knee, a bubble gum pink leather jacket, and black heels.
I glanced at her, then the outfit, then the bathroom. She got the message. "Katie, you're gorgeous, but if you aren't comfortable changing in front of me, don't worry, I won't look."
I blushed and looked at my lap. "Thank you." She turned around and I changed really fast.
"You good?" She asked.
"Yeah."
Lou turned and smiled. "C'mere." She ushered me over to a full length mirror.
I looked at my reflection, wanting to barf. "I-I-I"
"Do you like it?" Lou asked.
"I look like a slut." I whispered.
"It is a little low-cut, isn't it?" She agreed. "That's alright. Next."
She threw another outfit. We repeated the process until the pile of clothes had shrunk considerably.
"Try this." She handed me the second to last outfit. A long-sleeved v-neck tee that had a lot of small peace signs, rainbows, hearts and inspiring words like dream and love and peace on it. I was like one of those shirts you can color in yourself and it just hadn't yet, a bright orange 'Hakuna Matata' t-shirt, a pair of indigo skinny jeans with lace detail and faux converse that were green with white daisies. I put it on. Lou, for what felt like the millionth time, led me to the mirror.
"Well? What do you think?"
"This is so me. It's like someone took all my different styles and put them together."
"Is it a winner?"
"Yes. I love it."
"Great time for the fun part! Hair and makeup!" She sat me in a chair by the desk and got out the biggest makeup bag in the history of makeup bags. She put my hair in a ponytail and curled the end in a bunch of really tight curls. She left my bangs natural. Then came the makeup. "I was thinking an all natural look because you aren't super dressed up."
"Okay. I don't usually wear that much makeup anyway."
"Good, you shouldn't."
A couple minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Lou sighed and got up. It was Niall. He walked in and whispered in my ear. "You look so so beautiful."
I blushed but before I could respond Lou did. "Ni! You're going to mess up her makeup! Katie will be done in 15 minutes. Then you can flirt with her as much as you want." That made me blush more. "Now shoo!" After patting my back Niall left. Lou looked at me. "Alright, spill. What the hel-ck is going on with you two?"
"Oh, I-I don't know." I lied.
"Uh-huh I don't buy that for a second."
"Fine. He-We-I It's complicated."
Lou looked at her phone. "We have 45 minutes before you need to leave. You got time. Tell me."
"Okay. Well, me and my dad, we got here and the whole hotel was booked for you guys-except our room. We signed confidentiality agreements and promised not to bug the guys, who just so happened to be on the floor we were on. Later, I was trying to get some sleep, my dad had gone to a meeting, when guess who knocked on my door-the one and only Niall James Horan. Then the rest of the guys appeared and asked me to hangs out with them. Long story short we hung out and had a sleep over then ate breakfast together the next morning. Niall stood up to the rude concierge for me and Simon told me Niall had a crush on me and I went to sound check and their show with them. I read some mean and untrue things on twitter, then Niall, kind-of, um, kissed me so we started dating. We had a date and he ate dinner with my dad. We hung out in his hotel room afterwards because my dad and I got in a fight. We were doing great for awhile but we both thought we were moving too fast. So we broke up, I guess, and forgot that we ever were dating. THE END."
"Wow. I can't believe Ni moved that fast. He must really like you."
"Yeah, well, I really like him too."
"How old are you?"
"15."
"Oh. I thought you were like 17 or 18. Dear God! Had I known that I wouldn't have picked out some of the clothes I did."
"It's okay, really. Do you see what I picked out? An outfit fit for a 15-year old."
"I know, I just feel bad."
"Forget about it! Interview time!"
