''Okay...and you immediately assumed she is pregnant?'' I asked Darren when he finished explaining me the situation. Apparently, Lauren didn't get her period this month, and this morning she was throwing up, so naturally he got all worried, and after freaking out around the house, he came to me for help.

''Well she was throwing up all day Audrey! And I know she didn't have her period last week!'' Darren replied, repeating it again, all nervous, walking around my room.

''Maybe she was throwing up because she got wasted last night? Did you think of that?''

''I did!'' he snapped nervously, not really snapping at me, but on this situation, ''but I don't think it's from alcohol. Audrey, what do I do?''

''I guess you should talk to her. Or if you want I can do that for you.''

''I don't know. I mean, what if she's not? She'll think I'm an idiot for freaking out like this, and for telling all this to you.''

''Lauren knows she can trust me, and you can trust me too, so if she isn't pregnant you know I'll never tell anyone of this.''

''I know, that why I came to you'' he replied calming down a little.

''So, do you want me to call her?'' I asked.

''I don't know...'' he mumbled again. There was silence after this, and I just coudln't watch him being all messed up like this. I had to do something.

''Alright, get up'' I said getting up from the bed, ''we're going over to her. Together.''

Surprisingly, he didn't object, he just followed me out of them room, and then to his car. ''Are you sure you can drive?'' I asked worried. He just nodded and started the car, and even though he looked calmed now, I noticed that he was driving really slow, so he was probably still deep in thoughts. I just sent a quick text to Joey, so that he wouldn't worry where I went this late: 'I went to Lauren's. Emmergency. Call you later.'  Lauren's dad let us in, saying she was in her room, feeling sick. Oh dear God.

''Lauren sweetie'' I called opening the door of her room, Darren right behind me.

''Audrey?'' she answered surprised.

''How are you?'' I asked sitting next to her on the bed. She actually didn't look that sick, sure, she looked a little bad, but nothing dramatic.

''I'm good I guess. I've just been feeling nauseous that's all'' she replied, a confused look still on her face, ''what are you doing here anyway? Both of you?''

''How do I say this'' I started while Darren just sat on the sofa, far away from Lauren. Clever, I thought. ''Well, Darren was worried about you and he came to me 'cause he...well...he thinks you might be pregnant?''

I expected shouting, throwing things, cursing, on both Darren and me, but nothing happened. Lauren just continued sitting on her bed, looking at both of us, not saying anything.

''Lauren?'' Darren now asked.

''I'm not sure'' she replied with a deep breath, ''I'm six days late, and all this throwing up today, I just don't know. I think I'm not, but I'm not sure.''

''Oh God'' I whispered taking a seat, when Darren stood up and sat next to her. He just took her hand, not saying anything. ''Well...do you want to check?'' I asked after a few minutes.

''I probably should'' she replied quietly.

''Alright'' I continued, ''come on Darren, you're driving me to the pharmacy.''

''I don't need to check right now!'' Lauren objected.

''Yes you do. Come on Darren.''

We were both quiet all the way to the pharmacy, not that it bothered me. This hit me pretty bad too, I can't even imagine how he must feel. I mean, of course they love each other, and who knows, maybe they'll live happily ever after, but right now, we are all just 17, still in high-school. This was the biggest shock that ever happened to any of us, okay I won't exaggerate, but it was one of the worst things that happened. But what if she's really pregnant? What will she do? Knowing her, she woudn't want to keep the baby, I know that sounds bad, but I'd do the same in that situation. But what will Darren say? Yeah, it's not his decision to make, but he has a right to say something, and knowing him, he'll probably want her to keep the baby. This is one messed up situation, that's the only thing I'm sure of now. ... We finally arrived at the pharmacy, and not even waiting for Darren to come, 'cause I knew he wouldn't want to, I went in and bought a pregnancy test.
