Unexpected (David and Liza fan fiction) COMPLETED

Chapter five

David squeezed Liza's hands. He could hear her. Liza released her left hand and ran her fingers through his hair. They were holding each other's hand. Finally.

David slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was Liza. Immediately, he smiled.

"David!" Liza said. "You're okay!"

David reached for Liza and put his hand on her cheek. Liza kissed his hand. "I missed you," Liza said. Ian put his hand on David's shoulder.

"David," he said. " I'm Dr. Gayle. Can you talk?"

David shook his head.

"Okay. That's okay. Can you move your toes for me?"

Liza got off the bed and moved to the side of David. David moved his toes, his arms, and seemed perfectly normal.

Ian explained everything that had happened to David. "You have a concussion," Ian continued. "But you should be ready to go home soon."

"Thank you," Liza said.

David was given some pain medication which made him sleep. But he wasn't asleep for a long time. When he woke up, Liza started to talk to him.

"David," she said. "I'm so happy you're okay."

"M-me too," he mumbled. It hurt for him to talk, but he did it anyway.

"You can talk?"

"I-I guess so," David smiled.

Liza hugged David and helped him sit up.

"I'm sorry I had you so worried," he said.

"It's not your fault. You didn't think anything would happen."

"I should've known something bad was going to happen."

Liza looked into his eyes. "It's okay David. You're okay. No one else got hurt."

"When I first fell, the only thing I remembered was you screaming my name. You were so scared. You put my head in your lap, and I felt safe. I don't remember anything after that."

"I'm so sorry."

David shrugged. "Like you said, at least I'm okay."

The next day, David was released from the hospital. He couldn't put pressure on his leg because of the injury, so he was given a wheelchair for the next couple of days.

Liza opened the door to the car and helped David get into the passenger seat. She folded up his wheelchair and put it in the trunk. Liza kissed David, then started the car. David wanted Liza to stay at his new house so that she could help him.

When they arrived at his house, Alex was gone. He must have been at someone else's house. Liza put her bag into David's room.

"Do you want me to call everyone and they can come see you?"

"Um, yeah. I would love that."

Heath, Zane, Josh, and Corinna all came over.

"David-" Zane said. "Are you okay?"

"I'll be okay," David said.

"We have all been worried about you," Josh said.

"Yeah baby," Heath said. "I'm so sorry. This is all my fault."

"You can't blame yourself," David said. "We all thought it was a good idea.

For the next few hours, they all hung out at David's house. Jason and Alex showed up later in the day. They hugged David and Liza.

"We are so sorry David," Jason said.

"It's not your fault," David said. "It was Heath's fault." David and Heath chuckled.

Once everyone had left, Liza and David got ready for bed.

"I'll sleep on the couch," Liza said. "Let me know if you need anything."

"Very funny," David said. "You're sleeping in my bed with me tonight." Liza smiled.

"Okay," she giggled.

Liza helped David into bed, then moved to the other side of the bed.

"I love you," David whispered.

"I love you so much," Liza whispered back. She then moved closer to David and wrapped her arms around him. David kissed her forehead, and hugged her, tightly. They fell asleep in each other's arms.

In the middle of the night, Liza woke up to a sound in the kitchen. It was probably Alex. Liza rubbed her eyes, and looked at David. He was so cute when he slept. Liza put her hand on his chest and her head on his shoulder. David shuffled a little bit, then rolled over to Liza.

"Hey beautiful," he whispered.

Liza smiled and burrowed her head into David's chest. David started playing with her hair.

"I'm sorry Liza," he said.

"For what?" She asked.

"I want to do it when I get better."

"David, what are you talking about?" Liza sat up.

"I know that we have been waiting for a while and-"

"David, I love you. I love you so much. Of course we will wait for when it feels right and you aren't hurt." She chuckled.

"Okay," David smiled. "I want you to know that I want you to feel comfortable with everything-"

"David, it's 2 am. Go back to sleep and we will talk about it in the morning." Liza kissed David and fell back asleep.
