Unexpected (David and Liza fan fiction) COMPLETED

Chapter twelve

Tomorrow, Liza and David were going on their date. Liza couldn't stop thinking about it. She knew that she loved David and that she was ready, but she was still really nervous.

David was at Jason's house. Scott, Toddy, Jason, and Zane were there.

"How's Liza?" Jason asked. "Has anything happened between you two yet?"

"We are going on a date tomorrow. It's our 2 year anniversary," David said.

"That's insane," Zane said.

"Are you going to propose?" Scott asked.

David smiled, "I think so."

"Holy shit!" Toddy yelled.

"David!" Jason said. "That's so amazing! I'm so happy for you."

Scott gave David a hug while Zane just screeched in excitement.

"Have to talked to her family?" Jason asked.

"Yeah. It was the night that I first met them," David said, smiling.

"Wow," Toddy said. "Good thing they loved you."

Everyone laughed.

"Do you have the ring?" Zane asked.

"Not with me, but it's at my place," David said.

"How did you know which one to pick?" Scotty asked.

"I actually got a special one made," David said.

"What do you mean?" Jason asked.

"The night that we kissed for the first time, Liza kept a small rock from where it had happened. She didn't tell me about it until she lost it. She was so devastated. She still hasn't found it," David said.

"What does this have to do with the ring," Zane laughed.

"I found it under my couch a couple months ago. I didn't want to tell her about it. Instead, I made it into a ring. It crazy to think that I will propose to her with it tomorrow night," David said.

Liza was planning the outfit she was going to wear for tomorrow night. Liza couldn't stop smiling at the thought of everything. She picked out a structured, blue skirt with a high neck, black crop top. She picked shoes that made her seem taller, and she would wear her hair up.

The next day, Liza woke up, sprung out of bed, and ate breakfast. She was so excited and worried for tonight. She took a shower, shaved everything, then started doing her hair. Their date was at 7:00. David said he would pick her up 30 minutes early so that they wouldn't miss their dinner reservation.

Liza was done getting ready at 5:30.

David wore a black suit with a tie that Liza had gotten for him a little while ago. He slipped the ring into his pocket.

At 6:24, Liza heard a knock at her door. When she opened the door, she saw David with white roses.

"Wow," he said. "You look amazing."

Liza smiled, then kissed him. She took the flowers and put them in a vase on her coffee table.

"Are you ready, beautiful?" David asked as he reached for her hand.

"Of course," Liza said. David closed the door to her apartment behind them.

When they got to the restaurant, neither of them ate a lot. They were too busy talking and laughing with each other. David ordered white wine for both of them. Once Liza started to feel the warm feeling in her stomach and throat, she stopped. She didn't want to be too drunk for tonight.

Once David had paid the check, he whispered, "how about I take you back to my place?"

Liza looked at him, blushed, then nodded. They walked out of the restaurant holding hands.

David pulled into his driveway, and opened the car door for Liza. David held her hand as they walked to the front door. He could feel the excitement and worry as he pulled out his key to open the door.

Liza's heart was racing. She loved David more than anything.

David slowly turned the key. Once he heard the padlock pop, he opened the door. Liza entered first. What she saw immediately brought tears to her eyes.

Earlier in the day, David had set up the house for him to propose. He had a row of candles that led out to the backyard. Along the path, there were pictures of them with something that David had kept from that time they were together. In the backyard, there was a linen canopy with fairy lights.

Liza started crying as she spent time at each picture. David walked behind her with his heart racing. Eventually, Liza walked outside. She put her hands over her mouth as she paused to look at everything. David held her hand as they walked over to the canopy.

"David-" Liza said with tears streaming down her face. Her smile slowly appeared on her face as David went on one knee.
