Chapter eleven

"Corinna," Dom said. "Are you serious?"

"Of course, Dom," Corinna said. "That's why I started everything. I love you. I always have."

Dom put her hand on her cheek while he kissed her.

"I'm so sorry that I put you through all of this," Dom said.

"It was our decision. It will be okay."

A few minutes later, the doctor started prepping Corinna for surgery. As they started to wheel her away, Dom walked along with them, holding Corinna's hand.

"I'll see you after," Dom whispered.

"Okay. I love you," Corinna whispered back.

Dom kissed her before they wheeled her into the OR.

David and Liza were asleep in the waiting room. David was holding Liza while she had her arms around him. Dom woke them up.

"Liza, David," he said.

"Dom!" David said. "What's going on?"

"Is Corinna okay?" Liza asked.

"She is in surgery right now," Dom explained. "She won't be able to have kids anymore."

They all fell silent. Liza started crying while David hugged her. Dom hugged Liza while they both cried.

"I ruined everything," Dom cried.

After the surgery, Corinna was asleep in a recovery room. The doctor allowed them to see her, so they walked in. Corinna woke up a couple minutes later and immediately started to cry. Liza hugged her first, then David. Dom hugged and kissed her. Shocked, Liza and David only looked at each other, told Corinna that they hoped she would feel better, then left.

"What the hell did we just see?" David asked.

"I have no idea," Liza said. "Are they together?"

David shrugged his shoulders. "I hope everything is okay with Corinna."

"She will be okay. It will be hard for the next few months, but she will be okay."

At the hospital, Corinna spent the next few days in her bed. She couldn't walk. The doctors told her it was normal, but she still worried.

One morning, Dom came to visit.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey, Dom," Corinna said.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay. I want to go home."

"I know. I'm so sorry. When do you get to leave this hell hole?"

"Tomorrow. But I won't be able to go anywhere."

"I'll be there with you, okay?"

Corinna nodded, then hugged Dom.

They spent the day together, talking about anything and everything.

The same morning, Liza called David.

Hey!

Liza! Hey!

Do you want to come over and film a couple videos with me? I miss you!

I miss you more. I'm on my way.

David pulled into the parking garage, then walked up to Liza's apartment. Liza greeted him with a hug and a kiss.

"Hey beautiful," David said.

"Hi love," Liza said. "Can we go on a date this Friday?"

David smiled, "I thought you would never ask."

David and Liza filmed a couple videos for each other, then went to target. They were going to watch a couple movies tonight, so they grabbed some snacks.

Liza ran around the store saying puns while David filmed for his vlog. When they got home, the spent the whole night watching movies. In the middle of their second movie, David started to talk to Liza.

"Liza," he said. "Can we talk?"

"Of course," Liza said, pausing the movie.

"I love you so much."

"I love you too."

"I know that since all of this has happened with Dom and Corinna-"

"David, what are you talking about?"

"I want to make sure you are okay with everything, Liza. I don't want you to have to worry."

"About what?"

"Us having sex. After everything that has happened, we haven't been talking about it as much as we used to."

Liza blushed. "I'm not going to lie, I am a little worried."

"Tell me why," David said while putting his arm around her.

"You are still recovering from surgery and Corinna got pregnant, then had surgery that causes her to never have kids. I don't want that to happen to us."

"I know-"

"That one night that we talked about this for the first time, you said you wouldn't know what to do if that happened to us."

"I wouldn't. I don't know what we would do. But I can promise you, Liza, that we will only do this when you are ready. It doesn't matter what I need."

"Thank you for understanding," Liza said.

"Of course," David said before he kissed her forehead.

"But, I didn't ask you on a date just for free food, David."

Liza chuckled while David kissed her.

"Well," he whispered into her ear. "I can't wait."
