She told me her fur was pure white when she shifted for the first time. Her mother and father weren't on very good terms. After her father found out she was human, he rejected her and turned her in for money. Then her mother was forced to work for their Alpha because she knew about the wolves and they couldn't think of a better punishment.

Plus, Xavier's dad had a soft spot for her mom because he loved her, but her mother didn't return the love he was trying so hard to give her. He shunned both of them from the pack, and that made them an easy target for anyone. The pack members hated them only because they knew their alpha did.

I rubbed my chin with my hand. It still didn't make sense. Why is Xavier going through such an extreme to find her? Why chase her after she's escaped his pack when he doesn't have to worry about her anymore?

I sighed very deeply, my hand running down my face in frustration. I sat at my desk that was currently scattered with papers. I had been busy these past weeks. Alpha Weston, and alpha Damien have been on my back about a ball I am supposed to host in two weeks.

The ball to anyone else was a celebration for me finding my mate, but to us three, it was a very important trap. Things with the other beings haven't been going so well, and we all believe that we know exactly who's behind it.

Suddenly the door to my office opened up very slowly. Lindsey then walked in, still in that very short silk nightgown she woke up in.

"Lindsey. Is there something you needed?" I asked, seeing her serious face.

Without saying a word, she stalked over to me, a predatory glint in her eyes. Her hair hung down in messy waves down her back, and each step she took seemed to take the breath out of me. She is a very beautiful girl.

"Oh alpha, I just needed to see you." She whispered seductively. Once she was in front of me, she got on her knees and gently placed her hands on my thighs, kneading them. "After all. It's been a while."

She pulled my legs apart, her eyes never leaving my face. Her eyes. They were a deep brown with green aligned around the edges. A smirk graced her naturally pink lips sensually. She crawled slowly up my body, and straddled me, my hands automatically finding her hips.

She kissed my chest and made her way slowly up to my neck, lingering on my sweet spot. My breath hitched and she purred in response. "Mmmm Alpha, why don't you take a break? I know you've been working on some very important files."

"You know I can't do that Lindsey." I said in a condescending tone.

She leaned back so that she was making eye contact with me. "Perhaps I can be of some assistance and help you out. All you need to do is tell me what's going on." Her finger lightly traced a path up my chest.

She leaned in for a kiss and instead of her lips meeting mine, they met the palm of my hand I placed between us. "Perhaps not."

Before she could react, I pushed her with the palm her lips were still glued to. She fell off my lap and ended up a heap on the floor.

She looked up at me shocked and hurt. "What the hell are you doing?!" She hissed at me, rejection clear in her tone.

I stood up in anger. "Clearly you are not Lindsey. I suggest you shift back into your original form shape shifter." I spat, irritation clearly coloring my words.

The shifter on the ground wearing my mates skin looked at me in shock. Her form quickly molded into that of Naomi and I could smell that it was really her. "How'd you know?"

I scoffed at her, "clearly you aren't Lindsey, her eyes are green, not brown. And did you not think I wouldn't notice that there were no traces of the mate bond me and her share while you were touching me?"
