"Okay do you start tomorrow, and because you don't have a place to stay at you can stay here until your on a good start." Leah said.

I looked at her and gave her a nod of my head in respect.

"Thank you Leah, I will work hard and show you I'm an capable for this job."

She looked at me funny then laughed a little.

"Hahaha wow I'm gonna have to get used to the way you act and talk."

I didn't know what to say to this so I just nodded my head.

"Okay it's getting sort of late so I'm gonna go to bed. Gaige you can sleep on the couch, there are extra pillows and blankets in that closet over there."

Leah said before she turned around into a room that I expected was hers.

Now it was just me and Jamie. I didn't know what to do so I just awkwardly sat on the couch while she looked at me.

"So where are you from?"

I didn't know how to reply. I didn't want to be a traitor so I replied

"North."

"Hmm so what were you doing in the forest? " she asked then she came over and sat next to me on the couch. and let me just say, I was beyond uncomfortable.

"I was walking."

"Wow you really don't talk that much. but that's okay you'll start talking around me once we spend some time together."

I couldn't help but think about Sauna, so many memories came rushing back....

*Flashback*

"Gaige," Sauna said. "come run with me."

I couldn't refuse her offer, I never could. We started walking toward the forest, then we parted our separate ways to two different trees and came out in out wolf forms.

Her wolf was pure white, and beautiful. Every time we changed I always caught myself staring at her coat. I looked down at my fur which was a dark brown like my hair.

When she nudged me with her hip I came back from my thoughts. I saw that she was already ahead of me running, so I chased her. We played until dark, then we changed into our human forms and walked back to the pack house hand in hand, not caring about a thing in the world.
