Prologue

(Y/n) pov
(4 years old)

I ran through the woods that was behind the home that I lived in. "Find that little brat!!" A voice that belongs to my father demanded. Footsteps were getting closer and closer. "Found her!!" Someone that ran out of a bush behind me.

"(Y/N) RUN!!!!" My older sister, Jane, yelled. "Shut up!!" Father yelled. I looked behind and saw father kill my only sister.

I felt like giving up. Father is evil, he killed my mother and sister. Tears stream down my face. I can't stop running, Jane wouldn't like that, she would want me to live.

"Almost got her." Someone said with their fingers brushing against my shoulder. I turn a sharp left and didn't see the cliff. I fell off the cliff and into the water below. I splash into the cold water.

My head popped up and I was gasping for air. The water carries me down with it, until I caught myself on a fallen tree. I use the tree to pull myself out of the water. When I got to the bank of the river, I fell down on my stomach from how hard I hit the water and how freezing it is.

My breathing was heavy. I looked up to the sky and the sun is setting down. My eyes slowly closed.

~Time skip to morning~

"Find her!! I need that little brat!! She has something I need!!" I sat up to my father's voice barking orders. I scrambled up and ran into the woods nearby me. "There!! She ran into the woods!!" Someone shouted and footsteps came after me. I look over my shoulder to if anyone was running after me, but no one was running after me.

I turn forward relief. I continue running into the woods. Then I step on a net. "Who sets a net up in the middle of the woods." I mumble to myself. I heard movement behind some trees. Then a golden dragon came out from behind the trees.

"What happen to you, my child?" The dragon asked. "Please help me." I beg the dragon. The dragon walked over to the tree and cut the rope that held the net. He sets the net down and cuts open the net and I crawl out.

"What's your name, child?" He asked looking down at me. "I'm (Y/n)." I said looking up at the big dragon. "Well (Y/n), I'm Starlight, the Star Dragon. Where are your parents?" Starlight asked.

I ran behind one of his legs and hid. "Please don't take me back." I beg holding back tears. Starlight looked at me and nods his head. "Would you like to teach you Dragon Slayer Magic?" He asked putting his head down so I can see his big black eyes with a hint of yellow.

I nod my head while looking into his big eyes. "Come then my child." He said and started walking towards a cave nearby.

~Time skip 1 year later~

I was picking some berries and sang quietly to myself.
