Gallagher Hall Girl's Dormitory. Room D7. Rothwell Private Academy Boarding School. Monday, September 2nd. 7:30am
"These are so ugly!" I poked my head out of the ensuite bathroom just in time to watch Brynn make disgusted facial expressions at herself in the room's solid gold rimmed full length mirror (courtesy of Papa St. Xavier)
Rothwell protocol of course follows a uniform because what cliché private school wouldn't. Brynn was trying to fix the worst part of said uniform by trying to yank down the navy blue plaid skirt every girl was required to wear. The poor girl was almost 5 ft. 11 but since she was stick thin I guess they gave her a smaller size. Thus, making the skirt barely cover her butt.
"At least your legs look good!" I joke heading back into the bathroom to finish up curling my honey highlighted fawn hair.
I hear Brynn groan as I finish up on my last curl.
Perfection! I compliment myself on a job well done as I run my hands through my waves and give it a little volume. My makeup for the first day was more of natural look. Nude shades, a little eyeliner, some mascara, and a little powder. I wanted to make it look as though I wasn't too excited about going back. So doing my makeup like I was ready for a night out would make me look too eager.
"Of course. You would look flawless." Brynn huffs as I turn around to see her standing in the doorway. Besides her obvious uniform issue her hair and makeup were already done. Her jet black hair was doing this perfect bedhead thing that I could never master. I wondered if she did that on purpose or accident. If on purpose, I'd have to remember to ask her how she did it. Her fierce grey eyes were coated with dark shades giving off a smokey eye look and her lips were painted with a nude lip shade. To say she looked like a popstar would be an understatement.
"Says the girl who looks like she just walked off the runway at fashion week in Milan." I compliment her back and Brynn once again rakes her eyes down her body in disapproval.
"I'll get you a pair of tights." I suggest walking past her and to our closet.
"Thanks." She says sheepishly.
"So is this the day I meet the cool kids?" Brynn asks and I walk out of the closet holding grey tights out to her. Since she was wearing a light blue button down I assumed grey would look best.
"Cool kids?" I asked and Brynn chuckled.
"Your friends or what do people call it? Oh, yeah. The court. So 18th century by the way." She remarks walking over to me and yanking the tights out of my hands and heading back into the restroom.
After our awkward first encounter Brynn and I ended up getting lunch and hanging out the remainder of the day. Turns out she's actually pretty chill despite my reservations on having another roommate. However, she was nothing like Kam or my other friends. Her dad was a well renowned archeologist and traveled the world studying ancient artifacts and temples. Since her mom wasn't in the picture she traveled with him, switching from school to school. She said she enjoyed the traveling but it would be nice to stay in one place for a while. She traded stories about her travels while I filled her in on Rothwell, sadly having to explain my friend group.
"Trust me I did not make up the name! And you'll meet them. Warning you now though. There's no saying how there'll act." I could have lied and said they'd welcome her with open arms but that was a toss-up, even with me by her side.
I had a feeling the boys would like her, mainly because she looks like a Victoria Secret Angel. The girls however, were a different story. Shelby will probably feel indifferent at first but Cecily was hard to please.
