"Man, that was insane! I have no idea how we did it, but we did somehow!"
Garen and Xander were riding on the thieves' caravan after returning all the stolen goods to everyone in the Tualatin Villa. "I know, right?" Garen laughed. "Looks like I underestimated you."
"And I freaking underestimated you too, " Xander chuckled. "Man... we're, like, naturals at this kind of thing." Garen smiled, glad to see that Xander wasn't all distant and angry anymore as he looked outside at the caravan. It was quite dark out, and it would likely be nearly morning by the time he and Xander returned to the Castle, but he was content with how the events that unfolded then turned out.
"We really are, aren't we?" Garen replied. After a moment of silence (that wasn't uncomfortable like usual), Garen turned toward Xander and spoke. "Hey, I'm sorry for, well, us not exactly starting on nice terms the past few days I've been here. I didn't ever want to offend you or upset you or anything like that."
"Hey, come on," Xander chuckled, patting Garen's shoulder. "I was the one with the trust issues. But Garen, I gotta say that you're actually a pretty cool guy. Maybe my mom was right."
"What do you mean?"
"It's nothing." Xander went quiet and looked outside the caravan as well. "Beautiful night tonight. Makes me pretty glad that we had to do this."
"Yeah..." Garen sighed. He looked up at the moon and only thought of Lenora. "Absolutely beautiful."
