December 21st, 1816.
Capitol City of Portland, Oregon Province.
The Chancellor happily strolled through the Castle with his dagger in hand and a grin across his face. "My, my, we have a wedding to plan!" he exclaimed to no one in particular. "Oh, such a big, big move forward, for both of our Provinces, don't you think? Hohohoho... such a wondrous moment." He passed by the Castle Courtyard and saw Nicholas attempting to flirt with Lenora, who kept backing away, and he simply chuckled. "Young love between two beautiful kids... I love it."
The Chancellor burst into the throne room, where both Nohr and Maevis sat on their thrones with angered glares at him. He approached them and held a hand out at Nohr.
"My crown, please," he said. "And my throne." Nohr slapped his hand away and stood, advancing on him.
"You don't get anything," Nohr replied, unsheathing his sword. "I could kill you right now, Anthony. You've got ten seconds to get the hell out of our presence."
"Nohr..." Maevis sighed. The Chancellor was absolutely baffled by Nohr's response, enough to practically have him paralyzed. Nohr put his sword to the Chancellor's neck.
"D-Disrespectful swine," the Chancellor spattered, shoving Nohr's sword away with his dagger. "Is that how you want to start off treating the future father-in-law of that stupid witch you call your daughter? Damn you. You are an absolute disgrace to your title." He spit at Nohr's boots and glared at him, his eyes ablaze with rage before he left the throne room. "That no good King... who does he think he is, threatening me?" He stiffened and held himself higher. "Hm. No matter. I'll be King soon. Me. King Anthony Guinness of the Cascadia Region." The Chancellor grinned. "Yes. King. Of the whole Region! King of the Three West Coast Provinces!"
"You've gone completely mad, father." Nicholas came up from behind the Chancellor with a bit of a spring in his step. "There are too many people in the California Province. They would prove to be quite a challenge to conquer."
"Not with two Provinces under my control," the Chancellor chuckled. He looked over at Nicholas with a bit of a smile. "How's that fiancée of yours doing?"
"Hesitant, as you might expect." Nicholas grinned slightly, crossing his arms. "A bit repressed, too. But with a little bit of practice, she'll be mine, father. A Princess worthy of such a great man like me. But that's beside the point. How goes the wedding plans?"
"Don't you worry, son. I've gathered as many maids as I can to put the wedding together." The Chancellor smiled. "Everything is looking up, my son."
