I don't know why J. left it at that, but I suppose that's a better idea in the long run. Maybe he wanted to leave the ending to me. With that being the case, allow me to explain some of the things that he failed to mention. If you were just reading this now, you might be confused by a few things. Why did Millicent, Horace, and my mom seem to know magic? What happened after Bartholomew disappeared? Yeah, there's quite a bit J. didn't explain, but allow me to fill in the gaps.
Millicent, Horace, and my mom are masters of black and white magic. How I went most of my childhood without knowing that, I have no freaking clue. Reconstruction of Eugene began shortly after Rin returned with Millicent and Horace, and all the people who were as refugees returned to help them rebuild their proud city.
As time went on, Garen began traveling all about the 48 Provinces in search of his father, but he would never be gone for too long, as he became a Knight-In-Training for our kingdom. And even without a hand, Xander would help Garen in any way he could. I would too!
Seven years had passed since the battle against Bartholomew. We thought all was well after that, but we were soon faced with another threat.
