Mercy p.o.v.

Jim asked Uhura and Spock if them working together was going to be a problem. Uhura immediately said, "Absolutely not." Spock stared at her. She left and he turned to Jim me right behind the Captain and said, "Unclear."

"Captain?" I called.

"Yes Mercy?" He asked.

"May my brother and I accompany you on this mission? Klingons are known by Yaut'ja to be partially related to Yaut'ja as we have a common ancestor race which has long since been split into two different species." I said my face neutral as it was a tense situation. "If all else fails we can use common weaknesses to our advantage in a fight if it comes to it."

Jim nodded. "Ok. You and Watcher may come. I'll meet you in the shuttle-bay."

And my brother and I left to get our hunting gear. No use going to a hostile planet not armed to the teeth. Especially when our ancient cousins may be patrolling. They still shared the same mindset as Yaut'ja as far as the honor system goes.

Jim, Uhura, Spock, Watcher and myself were in a really small ship wearing all black headed down to the planet to take Harrison in custody. Uhura and Spock started an argument. It was interesting to see.

"We will arrive at Harrison's position in exactly three minutes. It is unlikely he will come willingly. I calculate the odds of him attempting to kill us at 91.6%." Spock said.

"Fantastic." Jim replied with sarcasm.

"Good thing you don't care about dieing." Uhura commented.

That one stung me and it wasn't even aimed at me. All the males in the small vessel looked, or tried to look, at Uhura.

"I am sorry, Lieutenant. I could not hear what you said." Spock said. That was a lie. Vulcans could hear almost twice as well as a human, a little more than the average Yaut'ja even. So I knew he heard what she said.

"I didn't say anything." She replied. Things were already getting awkward and tense. There was a pause. "Actually, I'd be happy to speak of you're willing to listen to me."

"Guys." Jim tried to intervene.

"Lieutenant, I would prefer to discuss this in private." Spock commented.

"You'd prefer not to discuss this at all." Uhura bit back.

"Our current circumstances...." Spock went to say.

"Are you really doing this right now?" Jim asked.

"What never seems to require your undevided focus..." she said then talked to Jim, "I'm sorry, Captian, just two seconds." then back to Spock, "...Is us. At that volcano, you didn't give a thought to us. What it would do to me if you died, Spock. You didn't feel anything. You didn't care. And I'm not the only one who's upset with you. Mercy and the Captain is, too." Whoa. Way to cross the line there sister.

"No, no, no. Don't drag me into this." Jim said. "She is right."

"I'd prefer not to be dragged into this lovers quarrel if I can avoid it please." I voiced my thoughts. "But to put my thoughts and feelings out there, I am upset as well but I do understand your logic Spock, if nothing else."

"Your suggestion that I do not care about dieing is incorrect. A sentient being's optimal chance at maximizing their utility is a long and prosperous life." Spock said. Then the Yaut'ja did not use this logic. We only lived for the thrill of the hunt.

"Great." Uhura voiced with sarcasm.

"Not exactly a love song, Spock." Jim said. I got that feeling of protectiveness for Spock again.
