*Kylie’s POV*
I shuddered slightly as the car finally rolled to a stop outside the hospital. I suddenly got a really bad feeling, and the sudden urge to cry. Something told me to walk, no RUN away as fast as I could, but before I could do anything my door was ripped open, and I felt a hand grip my arm.
“We’re here Kylie. Welcome to your new home.” Dr.Marcus smiled as I got out, but something was off. His smile was almost sinister, and his fingers dug into my arm, as if to let me know that he wouldn’t let me run away.
I started shaking, but luckily it was cold and snowy outside, so the Dr.Marcus didn’t notice as he dragged me toward the hospital. Something told me to try to relax and not show Dr.Marcus that I was scared.
So as we walked toward the revolving doors I took a deep breath and tried to relax my shoulders and arms that were tensed. As soon as I did that Dr.Marcus somewhat released his grip, seeming satisfied. Something told me to never let my guard down around him.
I was soon broken out of my thoughts when I walked through the doors of the hospital opened. I gasped in shock and felt my jaw drop.
The walls were all painted with right colors, pretty murals of castles and dolphins and I kinds of pretty things. I felt Dr.Marcus drop my arm and heard him chuckle as I walked forward, almost in a trance and I traced the outline of a painted unicorn on the wall, trying to take it all in.
“So I see you like the lobby.” A cheerful voice said, and I turned around to see a kind looking nurse smiling at me, her frizzy brown hair falling into her face as she knelt down to be even with my height.
“I’m nurse Jane! What’s your name cutie?” She asked, smiling at me kindly, something I wasn’t used to.
“Umm Kylie.” I said shyly, shuffling my feet.
She smiled and said “Well it’s nice to meet you Kylie! And though the lobby is nice, the playroom is even nicer! Would you like to go see it?!”
“YEEES!” I cheered, smiling for the first time in as long as I could remember.
“Well then let’s go!” She chuckled, straightening up and grabbing my hand, leading me forward.
“Oh wait!” I heard Dr.Marcus’s voice called out, and Jane stopped.
I tried to hide my fear as he strode near us, and he smiled. “Here please put this on Kylie.” He said, and handed me a purple wristband, some weird metal disks on the outside, all around it.
“What is it?” I asked nervously as he clipped it round my wrist, the bad feeling in my gut returning.
“Aww it’s nothing! Just a monitoring bracelet that all of our patients and staff wear.” Dr.Marcus explained, and Jane nodded, making me relax a bit.
