*Kimberly’s POV*
“Taylor.” Kylie cried once more, barely able to choke it out between her sobs and fighting for air.
“Kylie! Baby girl! Please answer!” I called out, noticing just how much her body was shaking in my arms when she suddenly went limp.
“We need to get her to a hospital!” Kelly called out, in near hysterics.
“No, If she wakes up in a hospital she’ll freak out, and we have to keep her calm enough when we try to think of what to do about Taylor.” Miranda says.
I bit your lip, just thinking about it. I looked down at Kylie’s still tear-stained face. She looked so beaten down, and even unconscious she looked heartbroken. She clung to me tightly still, and I knew it was because I reminded her of Taylor somehow.
She whimpered in her unconscious state, and I heard her mutter “Taylor.”
“Okay let’s get out of here. Now.” Miranda barked.
Everyone agreed and they all formed a sort of circle around Kylie and I, protecting her for Taylor. It was the least we could do.
We all marched out of the hospital, out of the same back door that we had used this morning, the only difference was that we had one less person with us, making the lump in my throat grow more.
I crawled into the cab of the truck. Everyone else had went with Brad, Jennifer and Reba in the car they had taken, so Reid, Neil and I all crammed into the cab of the truck with Blake and Miranda, Kylie’s grip still tight around my neck.
“What are we going to do about getting her medical attention?” Miranda asked worried, glancing at Kylie’s tiny body that was almost caved in on itself, her skin a sick shade of yellow, obviously caused by whatever was in that serum those sick demented Doctor” had been injecting her with.
“Well our Dad is actually a doctor, so we’ll just have him come to Taylor’s apartment. Plus it might help to have her around something that reminds her of Taylor.” Neil said.
He trailed off, and we all became silent, the only sounds being the purr of the truck’s engine, and Kylie’s whimpering in her sleep.
As we hit some rocks, and they sprayed the side of the truck, sounding like gunshots I was taken back to the room, watching helplessly as Taylor sacrificed herself, not only for Kylie, but also for Kelly and I to get out. And I just left her there. I pulled Kylie through the vent, watching as the doctors attacked Taylor, and sedated her. I didn’t go back. I just left her there. How could I do that?!
Before I could berate myself any further I felt someone gently shaking my shoulder.
“Kimberly! Kimberly!”
