*Kylie’s POV*
My eyes shot open, and I half hoped that all of that had just been a dream, but as I hopefully scanned the room around me, and I felt my heart sink. So I really had been in this demented experimental lab or whatever hidden in the hospital for two years now.
I sighed and tried to readjust my wrists which were bound to the bed rails like usual. I tapped my feet impatiently, waiting to the hear the door click. Finally after what seemed like forever I heard the door beep and then click open.
I looked up, just to make sure that it wasn’t Dr.Marcus, but let out a sigh of relief when I saw the small figure in front of me. She looked around for a few seconds cautiously, and then she took off the weird helmet to the suit that obscured her face, her long brown hair falling in her face.
“Hi Kylie.” Jane said, walking to the side by my head, her voice and facial expression dripping with guilt, as it always was.
“Hey Jane.” I said quietly, the pain from the shock treatments yesterday still present in my temples.
“Still hurts?” She asked.
“Yeah.” I replied shortly as she once again glanced around before she took out a small key and freed my wrists.
“That a little better?” She asked with a smile, even her smile showed her guilt.
“Yeah. Thanks.” I reply coolly.
I guess I should be a little nice since she’s the only nurse or doctor who are in this wing who actually seem to feel bad for what they do to me everyday, the shock treatments, the injections, the exploratory surgery, all of it. But I still resent her for always standing by and letting it happen.
I know she’s scared, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t do something to help me more than visiting and negotiating so I could have a small TV and CD player yesterday, to help further their research, she told the other doctors and nurses, or freeing my hands.
I guess her seeming indifference when all of these painful tests were going on hurt more than the other faceless doctors and nurses in the suits because I had believed that he was my friend, and I think she sometimes believes she still is, but if she really was wouldn’t she help me get out of here?
“Here’s those CD’s and DVDs I promised you a while ago, you’ll find those songs I taught you on piano on those!” She half smiled, which quickly faded, probably because she remembered that day.
“Thanks.” I said, and immediately popped the first CD in once I heard the door click closed behind Jane.
I looked at the cover as the first song started to play. It was called “Taylor Swift” and my eyes widened when I saw the face on the cover, something about the blue eyes and the blonde hair seemed startlingly familiar.
I started flipping through the CDs and felt my heart quicken when I looked at the next 2, called “The Band Perry”, and “Pioneer” the frizzy blonde hair and the dark hair of the 3 people on the cover also looked familiar. I then looked through the rest “Four the Record”, “Based on a True Story”, “Here’s to the Good Times”, “Blown Away”, “Stronger”, “All the Woman I am”, “Same Trailer Different Park”, and “The Hunger Games”.
The room started spinning as I looked at the faces on all of the covers, even though I had never seen or heard of any of them before now, I KNOW I knew them from somewhere.
Suddenly the room faded to black and again I got the same vision that I had that fateful day 2 years ago, except this time it was much clearer. The faces were indeed the people on those albums, and on that DVD cover.
