The next day Amy goes to see her mm and decides to do so alone. As I have the time I meet Alex in the pub, I've missed him.
"You ass." He says as he hugs me.
"What?" I ask as I sit down and start sipping my drink.
"It's been way too long since we've met up. I'm like dying." He says. I chuckle and we start talking about what we have missed in each other's lives.
Alex has a new girlfriend called Scarlett and has already been accepted to a university, but we mainly talk about our relationships.
"Oh, Scar is throwing a party at hers tomorrow night. It's out of the way so we can be loud late and not get in any trouble. You have to come." Alex says.
"I don't think Amy would want to." I say.
"Bro, I can meet her another time but you have basically disappeared for ages, you have to come. With or without her. You owe me." Alex says. I sigh and finish my drink.
"Ok." I say and Alex smiles. I check my phone for messages and jump up. "Shit, I have to go, sorry." I say, I was meant to pick up Amy an hour ago.
"Woah, calm down, have another beer on me." Alex says. "It's all good." He says.
"No, I was meant to pick up Amy an hour ago." I say.
"Then she probably got a ride by now." Alex says. "Have another beer then go." He says as if it is nothing.
"Half." I say. As Alex tells me the stories of him and his girlfriend I look out of the window. It looks like it has been raining for a while. I finish my drink and I stand up.
"I really have to go now." I say. Alex hugs me and I get in my car. I go straight to my place and I hear the shower running. I see Amy's shoes by the front door soaking wet. Guilt flows through me.
I go upstairs and I go to the laundry room. I pause the wash and see Amy's clothes from earlier. Amy must have just gotten in as the clothes have not properly washed yet and they still smell like rain. I re start the wash and I make Amy a hot chocolate, knowing she won't take long as she has had a shower and is only washing the rain off.
The house gets cold quickly so I turn on the heating. I put a jumper of mine on top. Amy comes out and I give her a sympathetic smile.
"Amy. I completely lost track of time, I'm so sorry." I say.
"It's ok, the walk did me good." She says and sneezes.
"Not if you get a cold." I say and hold her. "Why didn't you call or get a ride from someone?" I ask.
"My mum was busy, I didn't want to disturb you and I don't really have friends anymore." She says with a shrug. I sigh.
"I'll go put your clothes in the dryer. Put the jumper on the heater on and drink your hot chocolate." I say and kiss her forehead.
"Ok." She says. I leave and put her clothes in the dryer. When I come back Amy has finished her hot chocolate and is in my jumper and some leggings. I lay with her and kiss her shoulder.
"I'm sorry." I repeat.
"Stop apologising, it's ok." She says. I sigh and kiss her forehead.
"Alex is forcing me to go to a party tomorrow night. You are invited." I say.
"Party's aren't really my thing." Amy says. "But I'll go if you want me to." She says. I smile and shake my head.
"No it's fine. I probably won't stay long anyway, and you are getting a cold." I say.
"Will you be drinking?" She asks.
"Probably not. Someone needs to make sure no one dies." I say and chuckle. "Don't you trust me?" I ask jokingly, Amy doesn't laugh.
"It's not that I don't trust you Harry, I do, I was just cheated on once when my boyfriend went to a party without me. I love you and I don't want anything to stop that." She says. I kiss her and hold her jaw.
"I won't drink if that will make you happy. And anyway, I would never cheat on you, who would? Who would risk losing someone as perfect as you?" I ask. She laughs and kisses me and soon enough we sleep.
