A/N: When I write these, I imagine it like an anime, so therefore they blush and smile and cry and stuff like that. I hope none of you are going to find it weird because of that but it's just how I write these things. :3

((Oh and also: If I ever put any smut in this, they'll be humans for just that chapter because I don't think cat smut is a thing you can do. XD))

Let's get on with it then.~

Waking up the next day, Scourge was filled with only happiness. He ws laying next to his best friend, and his stomach was full. Neither has ever been true before for as long as he could remember. Scourge stood up slowly and stretched, yawning. Ashfur stood up a few seconds later and licked Scourge's cheek. "Morning."

Scourge grinned. "Good morning." He murmured. He flexed his paw and was relieved when there was no searing pain. It was sore, but he could walk on it now. Firestar walked up to Scourge.

"I need you to do me a favor." Scourge gave a flick of his ear, letting Firestar know he could go on. "Take the claws and teeth out of your collar. I'm going to let you wear the collar, but if you took the teeth and claws out, the clan would be a lot less apprehensive."

Scourge nodded. "I understand. I'll have Ashfur help me with that." He felt Ashfur tense slightly next to him. Firestar nodded and padded away. Scourge looked at a bewildered Ashfur and smirked. "What? Is there a problem?" Ashfur shook his head quickly.

Scourge started walking over to the fresh-kill pile and sat there, looking at the small heap of prey. "You're lucky it's greenleaf." Ashfur came up behind him. "If it was leaf-bare, you'd only be able to eat one time, but since we need to keep our strength, we get two large meals or three smaller ones." Scourge nodded and picked up a vole.

They padded out of camp when Ashfur picked up a mouse. They were going to look for a sunny place to lay and relax. Scourge had a slight limp, and Ashfur had to walk slightly slower so he could keep up, but they eventually found a peaceul place near the river. They settled next to each other, the sun on their backs, and tore into their food.

They were comfortably silent for a while. Scourge needed to hear Ashfur's voice again so he spoke up, "So... is it always this peaceful?"

"Oh no. It's almost never this peaceful. It's pretty perfect right now, considering."

"What could be happening right now?"

"Well... we could be at war with another clan or two, we could have a drought, we could have a prey shortage... Things in camp could be more intense than they already are... We could have a sickness outbreak..." He just kept talking and I just kept listening. Not nesisarily paying attention, but just the tiny hum that his voice made was so hypnotising. Everything about it was perfect. The hum, the slight croak, the gravel. He wouldn't change a thing if he could.

Ahsfur finally sighed and turned to Scourge. "Did yu have any of those issues where you lived?" Now it was Scourge's turn to talk.

But he didn't want to say anything except, "...You know you have a really nice voice, right?"

Ashfur jumped and blushed deeply. "I-.. really?" Scourge nodded.

"I'd listen to it all my life if I could. It's so perfect." They both fell silent again, and Scourge felt emberassed. Should he have not said anything? "U-Uh... S-Sorry."

Ashfur jumped slightly. "No no no, that's not... I didn't mean..." He smiled slightly. "Thanks."

"Why?"

"No one's ever complimented me at all before. It's... weird. It makes my heart feel all warm."

Scourge smiled over at him. "I wish my heart could feel warm."

Ashfur rubbed his cheek against Scourge's. "I know." He basically purred. "I hope that maybe I can make it warm for you one day..."

Scourge felt a wave of happiness flow through him and his heart sped up. "D-Do you really?" Ashfur nodded and licked his cheek. "Of course. You're my closest and only friend, so... yeah." He trailed off.

Scourge leaned his weight onto Ashfur, basically leaning on him. "Thanks... no one's ever really been there for me before either."

"I know."

Scourge started sharpening his claws on the bones of his prey, as he'd done back when he was a loner, even if it was his actual claws, and not dog/cat teeth. Scourge sighed. If anything, he was going to miss his trophies. "I guess we should get started then." He mumbled.

Ashfur looked over at him confused. "What?"

"Taking the teeth and claws out of my collar..."

Ashfur blushed. "A-Are you really going to let me get that close to your neck?"

"I trust you." He trusted Ashfur with his life, nd he wanted Ashfur to do it for other... more selfish reasons, but Scourge wouldn't dare admit that.

Ashfur inched over to Scourge and Scourge tilted his head upwards, Ashfur getting a hold of a tooth. He yanked it out, and the combination of Ashfur's breath on his neck and the force of the yank sent tingles through Scourge's pelt. "You alright?"

Scourge nodded. "Fine."

Ashfur nodded slightly and went  back to work, each tooth or claw ripped out causing even more static in Scourge's pelt. Just when he though he couldn't take it anymore, Ashfur tugged the last claw out. "There. That should satisfy Firestar." Scourge smiled at Ashfur.

"Thanks. Lo- uh.... You gonna finish your food there?" He asked.

"Of course! Who do you think I am?!" Ashfur said, snatching the remains of his mouse up. Scourge laughed under his breath, and sighed deeply. He almost said it. He almost let 'Love you' slip out. Scourge gulped and watched as Ashfur came back and sat down next to him. He can't know yet. Not yet...
