Chapter 1
His movements were beautiful, and his slender features made him out to be an angel. His blonde hair looked so soft and light, the way it flowed as he skated captivated her, she felt as though he had put her under a trance. He appeared to move as light as a feather, spinning as if he was defying gravity itself. For the first time Aurora could see that there was much more to figure skating then she had previously thought. Sure, there was always the entertainment factor, however watching this boy was different, she found herself out of breath, completely mesmerised. This Yuri Plisetsky was something, he was someone who clearly pushed himself beyond his limits. Aurora had viewed many figure skating performances before, her cousin was the current top Canadian figure skater. Even though she didn't like him very much, her mother insisted if they didn't go to one of his competitions then they should at least watch him on TV. One day Aurora just happened to catch the World Junior's Championship, and since then she was unable to forget what she saw.
It was almost a year later when Aurora's mother announced JJ's first competition for the season, at Skate Canada. Aurora of course didn't care, that is until she heard who JJ would be competing against, Yuri Plisetsky. Not exactly knowing what to feel, one thing was clear, there was a chance to watch him again, live at that. "Hey mom... do you think we could go to this one?" Aurora asked nervously, however her mother wasn't that dense. "You just want to go to see Yuri..." Giving her daughter a suggestive look. Immediately an intense blush covered Aurora's face. "That may be part of it, but I figure that if I go to one at least the family will think I am somewhat interested, right?" Her mother pondered, realizing that indeed her daughter did have a point. "Alright I will give them a phone call and tell them we are coming then." "Thanks... but maybe leave out the part about Yuri" Aurora responded, hoping that for once her mother wouldn't gossip about her to her siblings. Of course her mother never was one to keep her mouth shut. The main point though was that Aurora was going to be able to see Yuri skate again, see him up close. Grabbing her sketchbook, Aurora flipped open to the page where she had sketched Yuri from the Junior World's Final. That angelic looking prince was apparently fouled mouthed and quite aggressive. When Aurora read about him she couldn't hold back a chuckle, after all a boy like that was quite amusing.
After checking into the hotel, Aurora and her mother joined JJ and the rest of their family for dinner. JJ went on and on, as if he was the center of attention, which everyone had no problem of encouraging. Attempting to not roll her eyes throughout the dinner, Aurora continued to focus on the reason why she was willing to put up with this in the first place. Her eyes glazed over, the darkly lit room of the restaurant made it quite easy for her to lose focus and escape to the fantasy world. It wouldn't matter one way or the other, she was quiet for the most part after all. This was all so surreal, but why was her chest feeling tight? Why was she so nervous? She just came to watch, she had no intention of speaking to him. She would probably just look stupid, her accomplishments were non-existent, not to mention she was 2 years older. The real question was why she was thinking such thoughts in the first place? It made no sense, this blind admiration and infatuation... infatuation though? She really was stupid.
