I went to see a musical yesterday! It was awesome! It was a musical performed by a high school, but it seemed professional!
42nd Street is an old but really good musical. It is about a cast trying to put on a Broadway musical with a really stuck-up star. There is an inexperienced but really talented girl named Peggy Sawyer (I immediately thought Peggy Schuyler and AND PEGGY!) who joins the cast. She causes the star to break her ankle accidentally and is fired, but then the director realizes she could play the lead part.
And I saw one of my teachers (well, really a substitute teacher who is really awesome) at the musical. He was not performing, but he is a good singer. He sang You'll Be Back from Hamilton at the talent show last year.
It also had an actor from my town in it, even though it was in a different place. He was in Into the Woods and played the Baker. Not in the professional version, a high school version. He also played the Cat in my town's production of Honk! and some other thing that I recognized but can't remember. In 42nd Street, he played Billy.
It also had another actor I had seen in a high school production of Cinderella. She played Cinderella in that. In 42nd Street, she played Gladys.
It was fun! Bye bye my readers! ☺
