~WHEN PEOPLE SAY LOOKS COULD KILL, they weren't lying. Right now, I stare deeply into the fuming eyes of my mother, desperate to find an escape, but sadly, there is none to be found. That leaves me with no other choice than to stare deeply into the eyes of the woman, who has only shown me hate over these vast years. As I continue staring into her blood-red eyes, it's almost as if they are challenging me to speak, but my lips won't move. I won't move. All I can do is stand here, fear, and pray that she'll show me mercy. Finally, her voice, smooth, yet so piercing, rings out through the room.
"You will keep silent." I don't dare argue with her. I let all of what she has to say come straight at me. I'm not stupid enough to keep fighting her. After all, I can't even remotely compare to the head of the Hardsworth name.
As my mother inches closer and closer to me, I can feel my body go limp, especially under her red, blood-thirsty stare.
"I bet you don't understand how much of an embarrassment you truly are. Do you? Your tutor told me how you rarely attend your lessons. So not only were you born as a mistake, you must take it even further and not try at all? That's not even the worst part. To think, you would make Don lie for you-"
"He did that on his own!"
Faster than I have ever seen anyone move, almost unnoticeable, does a harsh, back-of-the-hand slap pass across the side of my face, causing my eyes to widen, tears starting to form. My own hand reaches up to comfort my now burning cheek.
"I told you, remain silent."
Once again, I don't hesitate to nod to her.
My mother takes only a few more steps closer to me so that there is only an inch or so separating us. Her breath can now be felt on me, causing me to shiver underneath her.
"What-" she asks, almost way to seductively for my liking- "are you already getting turned on?" Her mouth moves its way down to my neck, for probably the second time in a while. I know that this is completely and so horribly wrong to be allowing my own mother to do this, but I can't help it. After all, I can only imagine the mouth on my neck belonging to Elle's.
Elle.
A lone tear escapes my eye once again, no longer being able to stop them. So badly I loved her, and I missed my chance. Though, I never would have been able to be with her anyways. We're both different levels in the Empire caste: her an aristocrat, and me a pureblood. That's not even as far as it goes.
We are both woman.
A sharp, piercing pain is now pressed onto my neck until I can no longer contain the whimper in my throat.
"Mother," I cry out as her fangs press deeper and deeper into my neck, obtaining my rich blood that courses through my veins. My blood, even drinking a small amount of it can give anyone vast powers. It is a mixture of both pureblood and nobel blood, creating much more added power than one already holds. Even for my mother, who has the richest blood there is, drinking my blood will only add to her powers.
As more blood begins to leave out of me, I can feel myself becoming weaker and weaker. A lot of blood is being taken from me, and my body is not agreeing with it.
She needs to stop.
Almost on cue, my mothers fangs retract from my neck, and the once unbearable pain is now gone. Her eyes gaze over mine, the blood-lust red color now gone from them. Though, her hateful gaze at me never leaves.
Standing here, I expect more from her: more hateful words, a slap across the face, locked away in my room. Something, but not nothing. All that she does is return back to her seat once again, leaving me clueless on what to do now.
"Um..."
"Go," my mother's dark voice is clear, but with a hint of something else. It almost seems like guilt, but I don't linger on the thought. "Before I change my mind."
