(Y/N)'s P.O.V
I stood up and looked at Ace. Ace looked back but still looked emotionless as usual. I looked over at Junko to see she already finished her food. "Come on Junko, we're going now," I tell her.
She stands up with a smile. "Alright." Is all she says.
We walk back to my room without speaking at all, that is until we get in. "Hey doc, do you like me?" Junko ask. I shrug.
"Kind of... actually no not really, the only reason I'd have to like you is that you should be my hardest patient ever," I say bluntly.
"Then we're in the same boat, I like you because there are times you out predict me, but that's all," Junko says taking a seat on the couch. Weird, why would she ask that? Does she get some use of that information? I mentally sigh at my own thoughts.
"I can't out-predict you all the time." I sigh. Junko laughs. "Well you can't always win, (Y/N)," Junko says walking closer to me. We stare at each other for a few seconds, then out of nowhere Junko grabs both my wrist. I don't move, I wanna see what she does.
We stand there for a couple seconds just staring at each other. "Go ahead Junko make a move," I say. She pulls me down so our faces are only a few inches apart.
"Let's make a deal, (Y/N)," Junko says. There's a crazy in her eyes I've never seen in any of my other patients.
"What's the deal?" I ask, genuinely curious.
"Tomorrow, you and I are gonna go on a little trip away from this place. In the time we're gone, you have to let me try and bring you down into despair."
She wants to bring me into despair, that sounds interesting. I laugh and smile at Junko. "What do I get out of this?" I ask. Junko thinks for a bit a then gets an idea.
"I'll give you a kiss if you don't fall into despair." She says. "Ha, no, that's definitely not good enough for me to risk my sanity," I say.
"Aww, come on doc, you're gonna refuse a kiss from a pretty girl?" Junko laughs. "You left out psychotic." I remind her. Junko begins to think again.
"I'll do anything you want one time." She says holding her index finger in front of my face.
"Anything? Make it three times and you got yourself a deal." I tell her.
"You're pushing it doc," Junko says.
"You gotta remember, I'm not only risking my sanity, I'm also risking my life by leaving this place," I tell her holding out my hand. Junko actually looks a bit hesitant as she stares down at my hand. She looks back up at me and giggles before reaching out and shaking my hand.
"You got yourself a deal doc," Junko says. "I would say good luck, but it wouldn't help you," I tell her.
"Alright then, Junko you stay here, I have to tell the top boss that I'll be taking you out tomorrow," I say with a sigh. "Oh, can I come?" Junko ask.
"No," I say bluntly.
"Why not?" She asks.
"You don't ever want to meet this man. Trust me." I say before leaving the room. I head towards an elevator that's down the hall from my room. When I enter I hit the button to the top floor.
I prepare myself for the worst as I head to the top. The elevator bell dings and as the doors open I see a knife come flying through slightly cutting the edge of my face.
I touch my cheek and feel a liquid seep out from the new cut on my face. "Ah, welcome Dr." He says with a smile that could fool any detective.
"Hello Flare, its good to see you again," I say.
"Ah, no need to kid yourself, I know you wouldn't come here if you didn't need something," Flare says flipping a knife in his right hand. Despite this man being the absolute boss over everyone that works here, he's also absolutely insane. "So you wanna take Junko out of the safe haven, correct?"
"I'll never understand how you do it, but yes that is what I came to talk about." I sigh. Flare laughs.
"Alright, but you and Junko got me interested in deals, so how about you and me make one right now?" Flare smiles.
"What is it?" I ask.
"I'll let you go, you're just gonna have to do me a favor." Flare tosses the knife up into the ceiling. I look up to see he has thrown a bunch of knives into the ceiling already. When I look back down, Flare is there standing in front of me. "Deal?"
"There's no use arguing with you is there?" I ask reaching out and shaking his hand.
"Nope." Flare tips his fedora up so I can see his eyes. The crimson red eyes that show no fear, but could drive any who opposes him absolutely insane. I just wish this man could've been one of my patients, but Flare likes being crazy and anyone who tries to cure that craziness is never seen or heard from again.
"Alright, now get outta here and don't have too much fun out in the city," Flare says as I walk back into the elevator. I click the bottom floor and see Flares smile as the doors close.
Flare's P.O.V
I sit back down in my chair and look up at the ceiling full of knives. I can't help, but laugh as I think of what tomorrow has in store for those two. "Main characters sure do get to have all the fun." I sigh.
"Oh well, it's not like I don't get to have my own fun." I continue to look up at my ceiling full of knives. At first glance, it looks like nonsense, but a closer look reveals something more. Something interesting. "Hope Vs Despair"
