TITLE: Survivor!Kaneki x Survivor!Reader [AU]

AU: This AU takes place during a futuristic post-apocalypse. A secret dangerous association known as the "SCARECROW" took over, destroying everything. The world is left in ruins, with only few of those who survived. In order to hide their identity, every survivor uses a fake nickname along with a mask. These survivors are wanted by the SCARECROW, so they must do whatever it takes to survive. But that doesn't mean the survivors aren't willing to fight back..

NARRATOR'S P.O.V.

"Come on, Rabbit! We're.. near..!" you panted as finished climbing over the roof of an old house. "Ugh.. You go to fast. Slow down..!" a female voice yelled, below you. You let out an 'annoyed' groaned and reached down, lending out a hand at the girl.

The indigo-haired girl, known as 'Rabbit' frowned a bit, but reluctantly took your hand. You smiled and helped her up the roof. "Shit.." Rabbit mumbled as she looked past you and stared at the destroyed land.

"My dad used to work in that store. I can't believe it's all gone.." Rabbit grew an upset expression. You looked over where she was pointing, and was able to see a small shop. The shop was in ruins, and even from far away you were able to tell that paint was peeling off.

Looking back at the girl, you mumbled a low "Im sorry" before putting on your mask. Going outside of your "Territory" was very dangerous and you were aware of that. But what else can you do? It's survival..

"You ready?" you questioned the indigo-haired girl.
She looked at you with a determine expression and nodded. She then placed on her white 'rabbit-like' mask. On the count of 3, you both sprinted out of the building and raced towards the small shop. It wasn't long till both of you heard yells coming from all over.

"Shit.. That fast..? Those damn SCARECROWS..!" Rabbit cussed as she slightly turned her head around.
"They're catching up.."

'Damn it.. What do we do..' you mentally slapped yourself. At this rate, it wouldn't take long before you both were surrounded.

"Rabbit! Flash-B..!" you yelled out while staring at her running figure. She turned her head towards you and nodded. Even if she was wearing her mask, you knew she'd me grinning.
Within a couple of seconds, she opened a pocket by her belt and pulled out a 'flash grenade'. She pulled the ring and quickly threw it behind her.

Good thing you were wearing your mask.

In seconds, a loud 'explosive' noise was heard. A strong bright light shone throughout the whole place. You felt kinda bad for those who weren't protecting their eyes. Not only can the sound make your ears bleed, but the light was so bright it was capable of blinding you. You raised your arm and covered your face as debris flew all over the place.

"I...love..doing that..!" you heard Rabbit shout between her pants.

'That should be enough to keep them away for now..' you looked back at the now 'smoky' area. No Scarecrows were in sight..

After a couple of minutes, you both finally arrived at the small shop. You stopped to catch your breath and watches as Rabbit removed her mask and stared at the store.
"Heh.. I used to help dad here with my brother.." she mumbled.

"You're related to Black Rabbit, right..? The arch enemy from our Territory..?" you looked at her.

Rabbit remained silent for a moment.
"Yes.. Him. My younger brother." she looked down, allowing her bangs to cover her eyes.

You let out a sigh as you removed your mask. Placing a hand on her shoulder, you smile. "He'll come back. Trust me." Rabbit looked up at you and nodded. "You're right.."
