Chapter 19

Kim Taehyung POV.
16 missed calls from Officer Dwi.
It's 3 o'clock in the morning and he keeps calling nonstop. Maybe it's emergency.

I wait for him to call again.
Nothing.

I go down the living room and find the telephone. The landline is near the television so it's hard to get because Bangtan slept on the floor from last night.

"Appa." Taeguk's voice startled me. "Sorry to scare you. But can I talk to you right now? Somewhere you're comfortable."

"It's okay. And yeah, sure. Let's go outside. The midnight air is better than any air for later." I responded.

She nodded and took her coat from the rack near the door. I took my white denim jacket and opened the door for her. I suddenly remembered the moments when I always open the door for Hyejin whenever we go out or in.

We walked past the houses until we found a bench to sit on.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"I decided to tell you the truth. About what happened when I was gone." Taeguk played with her nails, nervous. "Appa, he-he said you'll b-be in danger if I tell you everything." she cried.

"Don't worry. I'm here. I can protect myself. You don't have to worry about it. Tell me. Tell me everything." I hugged Taeguk.

"Appaㅡ" she was about to complete her sentence but then we heard screams from our house. Plus a gun noise.

Taeguk looked at me and breathed heavily. We suddenly stood up and ran back at the house.

I pushed open the door and Bangtan wasn't there on the floor anymore.

"Hyung! Hyung! T-Taehoㅡ" Jungkook shouted while going down the stairs.

I ran upstairs and went to Taeho's room. Bangtan were all there, suddenly looking at me from Taeho's body. Namjoon was standing in front of the opened window. "Someone climbed and broke the glass."

I looked at Taeho. There he was, laying down on his bed, bleeding on his collar.

"I'll go call the ambulance." Jin hyung said quickly and ran downstairs.

"Taeho, Taeho. Stay with me. Stay with me! Stay with me!!" I shouted while shaking his body. "Taeho please!"

"I'm so so so sorry appa. It's all my fault. Please forgive me." Taeguk covered her mouth and suddenly cried on the floor.

"It's not your fault! No. No. No. I don't want to hear anything right now." I covered the bullet wound with my hand tightly.

"The ambulance is coming." Hobi hyung said, coming inside the room with Jin hyung.

Go Sungjin POV.
Ting Ting Ting!

I answered my phone.

"How's my mighty mighty mighty son, Jinwoo?" I laughed.

"You seem happy today, appa." he replied. "Taeguk was about to tell Taehyung. So I shot Taeho."

"Well, what's my business about that? Good work anyways." I smiled. "I'm proud of my son. Come visit me at the warehouse and I have something to show you."

I hanged up.

Seohyun is awake while Hyejin is asleep. I'm impressed a woman can sleep at this uncomfortable position.

I uncovered their faces with the bags and threw them at Si Ah's direction. Si Ah suddenly woke up from her 'beauty' sleep and rolled her eyes at me. "You know, I didn't sign up for this. I just signed up being a fake daughter. I want to go. Please?"

I looked at Si Ah harshly and walked slowly towards her. "You want to go?" I combed my hair with my hands backwards.

I stood there in front of Si Ah and froze, staring at her body.

She looked at me, blank.

"GO THEN!" I shouted as she flinched on her place. "Go. No one wants my side anyways." I laughed like nobody's watching.

Si Ah breathed heavily and gulped. She suddenly ran into the warehouse exit and went out until she disappeared from my sight.

Si Ah POV.
No, no, no. What should I do now?
It's all my fault! It's all my fault! I was about to get killed!

Wait, um, what should I do?
Um, call the police?
Wait, no,

I should go find Hyejin's husband.
I can use the money Sungjin gave me to go back to Seoul. Yes!

Kim Taehyung POV.
Taeho is laying down on the hospital bed, unconscious.

"Mr. Kim?" the doctor entered the room. "Taeho will be fine. He will wake up any sooner. The bullet went in his collar bones and it wasnt that deep because the shot wasn't from a far away place. But for a few months he wouldn't be able to move his collar and neck that much."

"Thank you." I bowed to the doctor as he bowed back.

I sat down on the chair beside Taeho's bed and held his hand just like what I did when Hyejin was unconscious before she woke up from amnesia. Or maybe, not amnesia.

I can't believe Sungjin handled all this.
Once I find him and all the people he paid for all this, he will rot in jail and he won't get a glimpse of the outside world anymore. I won't let him go this time. No, never. I won't.

"Sorry, Tae." Jimin said, beside me.

"It's not your fault. It's fine." I responded while looking at Taeho's closed eyes.

Knock, knock.

"Officer Dwi, here." a man said behind the closed door.

Hobi hyung opened the door and Officer Dwi came in with a random girl behind him.

"This girl wants to talk to you about something. She doesn't want to tell me. She said she has to tell straight to you first." he said pointing at the girl with his thumb.

I looked at the girl's eyes and nodded.

"Let her say it."

Kim Taeguk POV.
Taeho unconscious inside that room, I don't want to see it.

It's all my fault. If I didn't say it to appa, this all wouldn't happen. It's all my fault!

I cried while sitting down on the chairs beside the room Taeho is on. I can't take this anymore. I miss everything of how it was before.

I took my phone out from my pocket and texted halmeoni. It's been years since she didn't reply. But I still keep texting her. Maybe she'll see it one day.

Me: halmeoni, taeho got shot this morning. its all my fault.
