Rona knocked on a door which was painted unexpected gold color. Unexpected gold, like Jace's eyes. This was weird, this was very weird. Even though she was here just to babysit, it felt like she was coming to some drug den. Jace had gave her specific instructions on how to enter his house. First, she had to go to the back of his house. Then, find the gold door and knock on it only three times. It might take him some time to open the door, but never knock more than three times. Today had been a strange day. From the posters on her locker about Jonathan seeking a fake matrimony to Jace compiling a plan to how she is supposed to enter his house. Simply strange.

"Come in" the door jolted open. Jace stood there with his gold hair swept to the side and his gold eyes glistening in the sunlight. Jace has been living in the Lightwood house ever since his father died. He was eleven and the Lightwoods happily took him in.

She followed him inside. Their house was filled with antiques and any furniture with the color red. Their was painting hanging on one of the walls. It looked like something a little kid had done, Max maybe. The painting read "Brothers by chance, Parabatai by choice"

"Parabatai?" She asked him. She has been in this house a lot, but she never recognized that painting. The painting also had a black haired boy and a blonde haired boy below the lettering.

"It a thing Alec and I made up when we were little. It's a bond stronger than blood. It's something inseparable. It represents that we are stronger together" then he blushed, "It's stupid. We thought we were angel warriors that protected the world from demons"

"No, it's not stupid. It's...cute" cute? Out of all the words Rona could use she used cute. You just don't randomly say something is cute to a person you find cute. She could've used endearing, sweet, or even neat—if she wanted to go to the 80s slang route. So many words and she went with cute.

"Speaking of Alec, It be better if you didn't mention this to him, or Izzy, or anyone affiliated with this house"

"So, you wanted me to enter the house through the back door, and I was only supposed to knock three times. Now, I am supposed to not tell anyone that I was here. That totally sounds reasonable" This was the first real conversation she had with him and she already called him shady. But only shady guys talk to her, or guys how want to insult her by saying she had buck teeth. Simon wasn't any better, what kind of Jewish stuff does he need to help his mom with?

"I am supposed to babysit tonight, but something came up with Clary and so I can't babysit. If Alec found out that I bailed again he will cut off my legs so I would never leave this house again"

Rona was thinking, why does the whole world revolve around Clary! But she simply said, "I understand, I won't tell anyone"

"Great! I also have to pay you less than what you normally get"

"What happened to 'I will pay more since it's a school night'" great going! Now Rona seemed like she was greedy. She was just trying to make conversation, but she did it all wrong. Or she just thought that, she is very melodramatic.

"That was before I looked at how much money I had in my wallet"

"Don't worry about it, I will do it for free"

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, a pro bono for the good of the people. Just think about leaving Max with you alone without Alec to stop you. He could turn out be a evil mastermind in the future. I can't bear the guilt of that"

He laughed. He laughed at something Rona had said. Rona made him laugh. So she really wasn't that bad at small talk. Then he proceeded to give her instructions, "Max is currently sleeping in his room, I gave him a lot of candy so he would crash. I will be back in two hours. The only thing you have to do is make sure to feed Lil Izzy"
