They all were sitting by a campfire. Clary's hair flowing in the wind, almost looking like fire itself. Jace's golden eyes shinning like a cat's in the night. Rona looked at every detail in everyone, but she refused to look at Jonathan. She was too afraid to look at him. They were sitting right next to each other, their arms were slightly touching. Rona was focusing on her breath and his breath. She was breathing faster then slower, trying to out sync Jonathan's. Although, in the end their breaths would harmonize naturally.
"Rona? Rona!" Jonathan yelled, pulling her away from her weird breath—syncing—thing she was doing. This girl really needs some experience in social interactions, she is borderline creepy!
"Huh?" She replied, still refusing to look at Jonathan.
"You burned your marshmallow" he said and she looked at the end of her long metal stick, where a blackened marshmallow was hanging to its dear life, then splattering on the tiled floor a second later. "That's okay, you can have mine"
She looked at his hand which were holding a s'more. The chocolate oozing from the side of the graham crackers and running down his fingers. She slowly took it from his hands, exchanging cold that was trapped beneath their fingertips. She took a bite and felt the explosion of the sweetness in her mouth.
Then, she looked at him. She looked at how the pale moonlight shinned on his pale hair. She looked at how his skin adapted the orangey glow of the fire. She looked at him looking at her?? She looked at him as he slid his thumb over her bottom lip. What the heck?? This has to be one of those weird dreams.
"You had a little chocolate there" he said awkwardly, realizing that grabbing her face was not something fake boyfriends do, maybe real ones.
"Okay" She blushed, immediately realizing what a stupid responses that was.
"Rona, tell us about your first date" it was some other random person she was not paying attention to at this moment. Wait! No! It was Clary. Clary? She is still here? Well, Rona forgot about her existence for a second. "And don't spare the details"
"It wasn't anything special" she began to think of a lie to add to her elaborate lies. "He just showed up at my house out of nowhere. Then, we just walked around the city in the nighttime. Do you remember that Jonathan?"
"Sure" he replied, of course he didn't remember something that never happened!
"It was so funny!" she faked a laugh. "We just ate everything in site. By the end of the night I felt so sick. When I got home I threw up all over the kitchen floor, my mom thought I was out partying or something. It sounds gross, but it was romantic"
"Wow" Clary said condescendingly. "I never knew Jonathan was romantic"
"I am your brother, if you did then we would have a problem" Jonathan laughed, it was more of a smirk to be honest.
"When did you first kiss?" Clary asked
"You know, it just happened" Rona replied drained of creativity to think of something.
"Yeah, how did it happen?"
"You know, it just happened" she repeated
"To be fair, I have never seen you guys ever kiss, or hold hands, or even stand within 5 feet of each other" it was none other than Jace. Rona shot him a look and he innocently smiled. He knew that they weren't actually dating and their was no real date or a kiss. He was a master at adding propane to fire.
"What?" It came out a little high pitched. "We kiss all the time"
"Then you will have no problem doing it now"
